The problem here is that everyone is pointing to KD and where is the explanation of Booker's awful performance? Where is the chants of "THIS IS THE BEST SG IN THE LEAGUE?"

KD had a great year and the team stats are good, which reflects on Frank. Of course 1st round knock out hurts and people didn't feel good about the team.

I don't believe vogel was incompetent. He should of done better. To be honest, the front office hired him to work with ayton and establish a defensive culture. His teams have always had a big center and frontline size. Instead he was given a roster filled completely with finesse players whose skillset was on the offensive end. He was set up for failure after the ayton trade. He's still getting paid so, can't feel too bad for him. Looking at the trail of fired coaches at each previous team durant has been on it's understandable to ask this question and view him as a coach killer. He was brought here to help put us over the top and win a title. He hasn't done that. Sure, the entire team and front office all failed in this, but he's the biggest star on the team with championship experience and success . So if we don't get there he is the first one people question. A bigger problem is what it shows the players, that they can rebel against the coach and system if they don't like it and get their way. This needs to stop, and to be honest i'd rather keep budenholzer and move durant and players if they don't want to be coached or embrace the team's system and philosophy moving forward. No more coach firings in phoenix to accomodate lazy, uninspired and pouty behavior by the players. You have to have a system and culture in place first along with a coach that embodies this, then you go out and add players that can fit the system. If they can't or don't want to they are moved or put on waivers. It's a players league, but who pays the players? The uniforms they wear are a brand owned by the organization and the owner. Sure they can pout, sit out games and ask for trades if they don't like how things are but the coach can sit them, they can be suspended or let go from the team or the owner can refuse the trade. The point is they aren't just athletes getting paid ridiculous amounts of money, they are employees of the league and that team. It's still a job, the coach is the supervisor and the gm the manager. They work for the coach and the team. Players come and go but the team is always there adding or trading new ( employees) players via the draft or trades. If any of us acted like these players or had durant's reputation we wouldn't be able to get by day to day. These players need a reality check and to remember that it's still a business and they signed a contract to play. We don't always like our bosses or the company direction but we are being paid to do it anyway. Same for durant and the players under the coach and front office. If it comes to budenholzer or durant....cool, time to trade durant, he's been here several seasons now and we still haven't won the title. In fact we were swept this past post-season . We've regressed instead of coming closer to our goal. Time to let budenholzer build a culture here like dantoni did or even his mentor popovich did with the spurs. If durant doesn't like it, tough. Then it'll be time to see how he can help rebuild this team.

Let us stop beating around the bush and go into the real issue. That is how the Phoenix Suns organization destroyed Durant and Booker from within by making some bad moves. Let us not act like Booker and Durant didn't take the Nuggets team who is better than the current one to 6 games. I get it that CP3 was old and unreliable come playoff time. But why would you go bring in Beal who basically plays the same spot as Booker and was full of uncertainties due to injuries. I get Ayton needed to grow up and stay engaged throughout the game but what made you think Nurkic the slowest player in the league was the answer. You got a lineup of 3 guards who lack on defensive side and a center who has never been known for his defense or offense strength. Now all you are doing is forcing Durant to burn energy on defense to cover for them and expect him to carry your offense too. Make matters worse you leave out the most important position the point guard and experiment with Booker into playing dual role of a shooter and PG. The point is to build a championship team and surround Booker and Durant with complimentary pieces to capitalize on that playoff run against Clippers and Nuggets. So why would you bring in someone with injuries who gutted your roster with no guarantee he will even be available and no point guard in the process which is a process that is never been done before. Now instead of taking the blame for your roster construction you are sitting there sending out agendas that you failed because of Kevin Durant. Was it the owner who was putting that roster together or was it James Jones doing it himself because it looks like they were in the room picking names out of the hat. Booker besides being a little confused on whether to play make or get his still put up a career year and Durant was better overall on defense and offense all year carrying them at the age of 35. All they needed were some athletics wings, a point guard, and center who can fly around and they had every chance to go further. At least they are both healthy and performed but their supporting cast let them down. The organization has to be held responsible and take the heat for their fatal roster building. It is time to realize they made a mistake which costed them years because they are unable to get Beal and Nurkic off the roster to upgrade around Booker and Durant which will handicap their next few years. At most with Beal and Nurkic your main pieces one is injury and the other can't stay on the floor due to matchups which means we will be battling at most for a play in and early playoff exit. We can't matchup against athletic teams or bigs as we have seen through stretches as currently constructed. Take responsibility as spreading false narratives about Durant weekly is being over played as y'all been doing it all season long

The successful recipe is to surround two superstars with the best 3ds and a switchable defensive center with vertical spacing ability. Suns had that in 21, suns is easily fix able building around booker beal and whatever pieces we get back from trading KD, you get a defensive facilitator that can distribute to play with beal and book and we are ready to go. A 36 yo kd is not worth all these trouble, and the risk is too big considering a 36 yo can fall off a cliff at any moment

People are completely overthinking this. Anyone who watches basketball knows that this system was not in any way, shape or form conducive to the personnel on the team. It just wasn't. That's where everything needs to start. People say "KD sabotaged the team," "Book regressed," "KD didn't speak to the coach for months", but they're not actually thinking of *why* that's happening. This was not a good fit, offensively, and we're all humans. There were instances where Book would tell Vogel to bring KD back in the game and he wouldn't do it. Sure, he's the coach, but if he's not doing his job, you can't really blame the players for being upset, can you? Everyone has been so quick to blame the players saying they didn't do their job, but the coach's job is to put the players in the best position to succeed. And Frank never did that.

Wiggins/kuminga/looney for kd i would do it in a heartbeat, even without any picks back. Beal/book/kuminga/wiggins/looney is much more balanced with good mixture of size athleticism and skills. Would take ingram and other piece with picks for kd. Even butler Herro and picks would work, just get this aging diva out of phoenix

I see the Book/KD dynamic as a negative feedback loop. Book defers to KD’s too cool for school vibe and internalizes it and it became the new team normal. Throw in a well-meaning but wrong for the team Vogel and it was an all-around, ill-advised toxic brew.
