Bicycles have been used in combat in a variety of ways, the most impressive of which was the bicycle paratroopers of WW2. These brave men jumped behind enemy lines carrying bicycles for faster transportation on the ground.
Huh. Never even thought of war bicycles delivered by air. That puts any mountain biking adventure I’ve had at full speed to goofing off. That’s some gut level brave.
I believe large numbers of Japanese troops used bicycles extensively in traversing large distances in capturing British held Singapore, who had expected an attack from the Sea in WW2.
