The event is characterized by vibrant processions, with drums, dancing, and singing of devotional songs, particularly the popular chant, "Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya," which means, "Lord Ganesha, come back soon next year!" The idol is carried with reverence, often accompanied by colorful flower decorations, gulal (colored powder), and firecrackers, symbolizing both the end of the festivities and the hope for new beginnings.
As the idol is submerged in water, there is a sense of sadness among devotees, mingled with faith and hope for prosperity and protection in the year ahead.
