Here's the only converse point I have for you on this: It's going to be harder for Iranians to fuck with absentee votes coming from the US without being shown to be fucking with the votes. It also gets displaced Iranians into the voting process. All the Iranians who have come to the US because Iran is fucked up will have more say in what's going on in Iran. It's not a bad move.

Wait! Wouldn't absentee voting stations here in America mean that we, Americans, could influence the Iranian presidential election? Even if it's just by persuading Iranian exiles to vote against the state sponsored candidate?
I'm unclear why this bothers you. At the best we hopefully have sane people in America voting for the least shit candidate. At worst they don't count the unfavorable votes anyway that don't support the desired outcome. Maybe I'm just not understanding the dilemma.
Supporting the idea that any votes counted in the iranian presidency would be counted fairly? The absolute worst piece of legislation, filled with under the table bribes and pay offs, one that decrees things with no means of making it happen, that doubled and tripled the costs to the Taxpayers, has contradictory language that is now obsolete, and included a couple of things that were Unconstitutional....A.C.A. Oh, and over riding congress and the will of the people with Excutive Orders, like a good tyrrant would do. And what makes you think he isn't still running things, with a shadow puppet to take the blame? Oh, and you do realize that your current D on the ticket, won't be on the ticket come November. I'm a Never Trumper; the man has a deplorable past. My score card for Presidents is: how badly did they destroy the Consitution and how well did they defend and support it. Trump has done better than Obama and Obama Lite. Trump actually fulfilled more of his campaign promises, that created one of the best economies since Reaganomics kicked in for Clinton to take the credit. We should never have suffered the last four years, and I blame Pence for that. He had the opportunity to review the fr@ud, with a bi partisan conference, and he didn't. He hated Trump that much, that Pence let us suffer with record breaking inflation, and tens of millions of illegals pouring into our country. The only reason the R's allowed Trump on their ticket, was because they were terrified of Cruz. They thought they could manipulate Trump, and to a degree, they did. He's running his mouth off, and distracted the anti-rights, while good legislation happened. Oh, wait, that happened because of Trump. He is the only elected official in DC, who didn't try to protect his place in DC. He didn't pander to anyone but the American public. He got in and did what he said he would do. He defended and supported the Constitution. He didn't know the legalities of what he wanted to do, but he's used to letting lawyers tell him how, and he made it happen. His Border Policy was working! He was defending this nation's Sovereignity. Every time a strong R leaves the white house, replaced by a D, wars start or terrorists attack around the world. Putin would still be in his lane, if Trump was in the White House.
