You cannot get through nearly 2/3rds of an election and say, our pick isn't winning so lets swap him out. There are election laws in place and if they do swap him, the ballot is locked in by the states and any switch would not be on the ballot in many states and would not win the electoral votes unless they break they rules and they are good for that indeed.
I knew by Sunday the Democrats would have a decision on how they were proceeding. And by Sunday morning the political chat news programs were all pushing the same thing. Biden was staying in the race. I know the Dems are trying to say it was a family matter and all his inner circle did was try to ease the minds of supporters, but I guarantee you that was far from the case. There was not on discussions on who to try to switch him out with, but also whether a switch was even feasible at this point. Getting another name on the ballot (even if it was Harris) in each state was not a guarantee. And if the choice wasn't Harris that would be disasterous for this administration even if their time in office was down to six months. Whether they liked it or not, there really is no choice but to continue with Biden. And even before that decision was made their political talking point was already set in motion. "Trump Lied and Biden told the truth." But in realied, both candidates lied when Biden's comments were coherent. But far too many times in that 90 min debate Biden's comments were just incomprehensible gibberish.
honestly, there should be a limit of age to become US president as well as mental tests etc. Not by any convient-pleasing doctor that gets paid for the right results
