Still early in the season, but the current standings, is the opposite of what many thought it would be. Parity is real in this conference. Every team in this conference could beat any other team if they play well. It will be fun to see how it all shakes out

@@heartlandcollegesports well Pete you did say Tech might be 7-1 in November. I think with them sorta flying under the radar they won’t have the pressure of being a contender. Nobody is gunning for them right now. And I think they’ll win the next two against Baylor and TCU. November 2nd against Iowa State could become a huge game.

Nationally, this conference looks like crap. If you are a fan of a Big 12 team........Dang, this is fun. This coming weekend is full of big games and it's going to be a dogfight every week.

Sonny Dykes took Gary Patterson’s team to the natty. Let’s not forget that. That being said, Dykes is coaching to his full potential and his team is playing there too. But he doesn’t have the recruiting draw that Patterson had and he just won’t ever have it. Sad end to an amazing small school success story. That said, WRECK EM!
Players playing for money rather than loyalty to a school is changing the amount of fight in teams when adversity hits. When teams are winning, it’s easy to continue to take $ and play. When losing, i still take the nil and think “i got mine”.
Crazy as usual. What if Houston finds an offense! How hot are the HC seats in Waco and FTW now? BYU and Utah move up in the polls playing 0 games 😂. Same with KSU. I think ISU is the great white hope of the XII right now to put in a reasonable account of the conference come playoff time.
Looking closer at IowaSt, I think they are a bit overrated at the moment. Their SoS is not very good, and the two BIG12 teams they've played are near the bottom in the league, and their out of conference has 1 decent team known to have a "world class offense".... Maybe Ill eat crow this upcoming weekend when they play WVU, but I believe WVU at Home gets the Win. WVU's SoS is much higher, so they are more normalized to playing a higher level of competition, and now with two wins in their pocket to build confidence and improve to actually play to their potential, & Neal Brown's teams do historically start slow and improve as the season progresses. I believe its going to be a great game, but WVU's run game helps them maintain superior ToP and keep Rocko & Company off the field. If WVU plays to their potential, aligned to how they played this weekend, I dont think IowaSt will be able to go into Morgantown and pull out with a win, ultimately coming up a little short in what will be a close hard fought game. This was the first week when WVU actually played to its potential. That is why WVU fans were so infuriated earlier in the season. They just wasnt gelled, very inconsistent, and wasnt executing equivalent to their talent. Hoping this was the turning of the corner. 34 WVU - 30 IowaSt Side Note: For WVU fans its a little conflicting playing IowaSt because of Rocko. His Dad is a legendary WVU player, very well loved among the fans, and many WVU fans wanted Rocko to come to Morgantown, but we landed Nicco Marchiol in that 2022 class. Which is showing us that he'll be developed & ready to shine next season when his era as QB1 begins. WVU fans want to see Rocko do well, just not this weekend, haha.. Looking at IowaSt's schedule, this is also the point in the season when their schedule starts to get much much harder. WVU, UCF, TTech, Utah, KState Thats as tough as WVU's conference schedule.. So we'll see how they navigate the remaining of their schedule, but something tells me they have a couple losses on their record when regular season ends.
Everyone should slow down on the ugly win narrative as that’s not only not accurate… it’s not fair. Tech actually an excellent first half and a solid if not great 4th quarter. Yes the 3rd quarter was a dumpster fire for a variety of reasons but the 4th quarter with the game on the line was damn good. Credit AZ for taking advantage of 2 stunning fumbles by Taj but in doing so you MUST give Tech credit for making the same types of plays in the 4th quarter with the outcome in doubt. I’ll argue that’s the fairest analysis.
u know how wild those night games r in lubbock, tucson or tempe (fb & hoops). i picked tech to win at az by 1 or 2 (was close to the actual end result).

Actually WVU should of won the Pitt game but had a touchdown taken off the score board because an official got richer for calling a bogus holding call that was not holding at all. So WVU is actually a 4-1 team. By the way Penn State and Pitt are undefeated.
At least four linebackers and two d-linemen. A couple might be coming back late season, a couple appear out short of bowl season, maybe. They've literally been trotting out walk-on freshmen linebackers at times - it's crazy what Heacock is doing with that defense!
Im guessing that bacon will be out until Utah at the very earliest, McLaughlin I feel will be back for either the tech or Kansas game, brezina got banged up in this game against Baylor but was being sent out a few times (Mostly because we had walk ons out there). I’m not sure about the other linebackers, but the fact that we held Baylor to 71 rushing yards and didn’t get too torn up there is a testament to heacock. Also Porter (one of our good safeties) was also out, which we felt. We are a banged up team on defense, but keep producing quality outings. Hopefully that continues at Morgantown. Roll clones

Iowa State needs to figure out how but to start so slow or it will cost them eventually. Or maybe they'll be 2022 TCU that just always comes back and wins. But they have started slow against North Dakota, Iowa, Houston, and Baylor. That's 4 of their 5 games
Iowa State might actually be legit. The next five or six teams in the Big 12 feel like they're kind of equal. Iowa State might be too, but hanged if I can tell. Beat an Iowa that beat some moderate teams, then got trashed last Saturday. But do they count as being proof of Iowa State being good? I'm a BYU guy, not necessarily saying BYU is better. Kansas State was a lucky game. Baylor kind of was too. We earned SMU, and it turns out they're okay... But... Basically... WHAT IS GOING ON?

ASU is 9 points from being 5-0 , who would have thought that . Kenny D has them believing they can beat anybody . Kansas is the best 1-5 team in the country. They are not getting blown out and have been in every game so far . They will trip somebody up at some point . I think Tech is the real deal . Tucson is a tough place to play Arizona was fired up and Tech just kept their heads down got the job done . I was certain the Wildcats were going to win this in a shootout . The shootout turned out to be 90 miles north .
ASU and KU was a highly interesting and entertaining game. It seems the XII is finding New ways to shoot itself in the foot as far as national perception unfortunately. UCF performance was a disgrace. And Arizona came crashing back to earth after everyone was putting them In the drivers seat after the Utah game. All it proved was Utah isn’t that great. 😂 and wtf is going on in Stillwater.

I’ve only seen one game in Ames. Utah vs Iowa State in 2010. At the time, I was doing fellowship work at the University of Iowa and I brought my three oldest kids. We had a ball at that game. I am an Utah alum.
I love ISU but their defence is so beat up they really need to get some of their guys back or at least stay as healthy as they are right now or they will be in some trouble, especially linebacker position.

And what is Utah? Arizona? This conference is wild! I'm a BYU guy, new to the Big 12. Is it always this insane? Halfway through the season, with no clear dominant force in the conference? Iowa State looks really good, but on a good week, Kansas State, BYU, Colorado, (or maybe even, who knows--Texas Tech?) might be able to take them. This is insane. I know that BYU isn't good enough to be # 14. Utah without Cam Rising, are we going to find out it's not good enough to even be ranked? Is it this season or this conference that is this crazy?
I think this is the post OU-UT world, it was usually them on top with the bloodbath happening in the mid-tiers (with exceptions of course), but now that they’re gone the bloodbath is happening at the forefront. I love the big 12 and football is becoming basketball where anyone can beat anyone on a given day, there are no easy games, its fantastic
@@romebigred2 THE Big 12 has always been pretty competitive. The problem was always the Media building up Texas and OU. Don't get me wrong, those two programs were great (especially Oklahoma) but TCU dominated Texas the last few years . Baylor jumped up there and won the conference (and had to beat Oakie State to win it). Kansas State was always a powerhouse until the last couple seasons. Bur, TEXAS AND OU GOT ALL THE MEDIA, BECAUSE TEXAS AND OU HAD THE MONEY. When this transfer portal and NIL crap started, the Big Cigar smokers knew they couldn't achieve total domination by the SEC and BIG 10 unless they got Texas and OU on board. TEXAS and OU had the money to compete against their corrupt collaboration with the sports media. Thus, they had to get Texas and OU on board. Good Riddance....I love the new look . Go Big 12.
