As a woman I can say: when a man chooses us based on integrity, friendship, real attraction & love, then we see him as a person & won’t betray him. But when a man is chasing us based on looks, it’s impossible to respect him. He’s objectifying us, so we inevitably start to objectify him for money or w/e he provides. It feels transactional & then when the benefits stop, SOME women or men will betray that partner, because they were only there for the benefits anyway, not for the person. I’m not saying you can only date girls from church, but if your only criteria is looks, women know that & we don’t respect it. You’re 100x better off with a 7 who’s a great person at heart than a 10 who will rob you, set you up to get exposed, etc

Same age as you and life has taught me the same lessons. I move completely different now in my 40s. I follow my intuition more now then every before. If I get a bad feeling about someone, I don't care how cool others say they are, I'm NOT fucking with them. When it comes to women, I now take the time to get to know them. When I was younger, I didn't do this and found myself in situations I would've not been in if I took the time to get to know the chick. A lot of these women complain about men being toxic but there are a lot of toxic females out here as well. You just have to be careful.
