Hey Peter! We have those camping lanterns for power outages too. They work well. I really like them. Also just a reminder as you’re preparing,you better get your fireplace taken care of BEFORE the pricing really goes up the more it cools down..🙂 Just a reminder 💙💙💙👍✌️

My husband and I are trying to be more prepared in the case of something like Hurricane Helene again. We asked a friend what they have in their go bags. He replied, "Our natural disaster go bags or our civil unrest go bags?" 😳 😱 I am not OK.

I figured this out last yr when we went through a hurricane.... It's always hot during hurricane season and most ppl usually use flashlights or candles. The downfall of a candle is it can make your house hotter than it already is plus you could maybe fall asleep while it's burning risking a fire. I always buy the solar lights from Dollar Tree and charge them during the day and then bring them in in the evenings and set them up around my house so even when the power is out for days I have the solar lights lighting up my house plus I can pick them up and take them with me throughout the house. We were without power for 4 days and they worked perfectly!!

I understand how generators can be intimidating but you should consider the Jackery or bluyeti brand for a battery generator. They are easy to use and for the purposes you need them for either brand will work for you. They are expensive but you wouldn't need the huge ones but the smaller sized ones that will allow you to charge your devices, make coffee, and run small appliances. The descriptions on the Amazon will help you in making the best choice for your family.

You can get AA and AAA batteries that can recharge from a USB , so you can recharge them from your big charging bank.
