I like ash since it dries quickly, but I feel like it doesn't burn for long, but does give off decent heat. How do you like the clone Husky saw? We have one at work and it seems to run when it feels like it, haha
Nice video Elliott. I see that with a crooked cut, you need to put the fat side down or the pusher has a tendency to tip the piece forward. I still want to ship you a 8' stick of pvc conduit with marks every 16" for your own personalized firewood measuring stick... but UPS wants $50 to ship because its over length. 😅
Yeah I've learned that through this video...Seems like I have a crooked eye when I cut off a pile, when I'm cutting off the ground that's never an issue. Maybe I should start tilting my head when I'm cutting off the pile haha
Nice job! Your helper did a great job as well. I am switching gears this week and going to be doing some mobile milling for someone this week. Enjoy the weather
@@EverythingElliott I have mostly milled for my self in the past. Last year I started selling some higher end wood like walnut. This is my first mobile milling job, but yes you can make money at it. Everything you do to the wood can add value. Dimensional lumber is worth more than firewood. Products made with dimensional lumber are worth more than the lumber. I stay away from low $ per board foot stuff like pine for selling.
@@EverythingElliott the only problem with milling other people’s logs is you don’t know if there is metal in them if they are a yard log. This job I am doing is all hemlock and came out of his woods so should be fine. I’ll let you know when I post a video from it.
