How often we forget that FZ was at heart a composer who constantly wrote little black dots on paper. Mind blown, as usual.

And, although he isn't usually classed as such, he was a fantastic jazz composer - whose peers were not really Varese or Stravinsky, but Ellington, Mingus, and Threadgill.

Being from the Zappa generation this the first time i see another formation play his work. I am eagerly looking forward to more. By the way, congratulations with your first prize on the Dutch MeerJazz Int. Big Band Concours 2018!

What a great arrangement! You can tell the players love the music they're playing. I love hearing other bands play Franks music properly!!! If you like this, try listening to Eddie Palmieri's "Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance" album...another great band and album.
