Man between Patterson and the burners you’re dropping, we basically on the same wavelength of taste lol. Ever check out March of the Tadpoles by Toshiko Akiyoshi? Another burning chart with a wicked bone soli
@@dingfunction287 Ah, just recommending pieces I've played for the most part lol. And yeah I completly forgot about that one. Never played the song, but its a doozy as well
Stan Kenton's 23 Degrees North 82 Degrees West has a pretty cool trombone soli in the beginning Roy Hargrove's Big Band "September in the Rain" has a good little trombone soli from 2:15-2:30, both are super killing charts
Anything with trombones is great; any kind of trombone; soprano, alto, tenor, bass and contrabass! Oh I left out valve trombones; sorry fellas! Next time!
Might I suggest Torque’s (Alan Baylock) soli after the solo section (you already did the intro, in the first video, but the PrimeTime album is way better) And also Mood Indigo by Wycliffe Gordon Also the soli in Old King Dooji by Duke Ellington, either the standard album or Essential Ellington recording by TJO
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G1YqvxCipnw.html (End of year show of ours) (1:13:02 for Mood indigo trombone trio) (1:54:42 for my West Side Story solo)
Man, trying to think of more suggestions is hard. Donna Lee arr. Matt Catingub is one. An easier but oldie one you should checkout is The Honeydripper from Si Zentner around the 2nd half. Just unison melody but a nice dirty section playing. I hope you do that dick nash one I messaged a few days ago lol, but another solo that’s pretty dope is on Reggie Chapmans album. You go to my head, solo by Ben Ford
Ooo, hey, if you want a nice challenge, check out Moontrane arr. Scott Whitfield. It was recently recorded by the One O Clock. I could provide you with one of the parts if you'd like a little hand lol
@@jed_mp3 heres a little help with some slide positions, although not as great sound quality - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YOqnXh1vpVY.html
@@Caleb-td8wm I know the offer wasn’t extended to me, but if you’d be willing to share those parts you do have with me I’d really appreciate it, especially since the chart isn’t commercially available!
