One of my top 5 best tv shows period!!!! The writing, the acting, the dialogue, the delivery of all the unique characters, the plot lines, the comedy, the drama this show is from top to bottom a 10/10

My dad always referred to this show as Big Bang You In The Mouth Theory and to this day I have no idea why... This behind the scenes is awesome and more shows should do this...

I honestly don’t see the problem with Big Bang Theory, I always found it funny as a kid, now it’s just a better sitcom for me. But people always have to find something to bitch about, don’t they? Usually it’s a lie when something’s said to be filmed in front of a live audience, and now that they actually did film it like that, people hate on that for... annoyance, jealousy? I honestly can’t figure out why

Growing up near Burbank Ca...we often went to show tapings for various T.V. shows. It's fun and often the actors would take a moment to engage the audience. Last one I went to was for Benson.

The audience is definitely told when to laugh. It's so cringe when they giggle at every "NOT FUNNY" line. It's exponentially more cringe when the actors pause after every phrase, expecting the laugh track to replace the cringe moments.

The audience doesn't always laugh. That's why the audio goes up and down. Sometimes when nobody laughs at a dumb joke they just edit the laugh in. If you pay attention you can hear it.

So they complete shoot for one episode in 3 hours? Impressive!

I wonder if they do this for every single episode or just for this featurette.

Call me a cynic, but the fact that TBBT is filmed in front of a live audience doesn't convince me that there isn't some kind of artifices used. I can imagine them allowing in more regularly people who have stand-out laughs. I'm convinced that there is one bloke whose laugh you can hear lingering on after most of the other laughter has died down. I reckon if you got 100 people who have attended various showings, sat them down with a sketch artist, and asked them to describe "that bloke whose loud laughs kind of annoyed you," the artist would come up with good sketch of the same person. I'm sure there are many other little tricks that have never occurred to me, but that one seems like a plausible 'loophole' to me.

I guess I will never understand why bother with all this live audience crap, when they could simply add the laugh track. The live audience laughs at everything anyway, even when there's like 60% of what's actually funny. And by saying "producers need to know what's funny and what's not so therefore live audience" is crap as well - they could know it by showing it to some people with taste and fashion and the live audience laugh at everything the producers INTENDED to be funny anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Maybe I missed it but how do they recording the scenes in other area, for example in cheese cake factory? Are those places at different side of the studio, or in a different studio or they just recording it without audience at a different place?

How do they get the audience to move to different sets? It looks like these seats where fixed facing the 2 appartements. Do they have seats for every set or just show it to them via the tvs above and tape their laughs?

I tried getting tickets for a year 😭 but I'm glad I got to watch this. This show will be missed. It started right before I graduated high school and now I'm married and on my way to being a mom of two.

I attended a taping last year. It was a blessing to get tickets. Seeing the sets, especially the apartment sets, was surreal. It was a blast!!!

It is such a special experience seeing a live taping. Mark Sweet makes the crowd so excited throughout the whole show! The mockumentary comedy “The Counselors” was so lucky to have him on the other side of the camera as an actor!

Even though I will probably never get to see a live taping of the show, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the "behind the scenes" presentation. I have a son who has many of the same quirks as Sheldon (he has Asperger's syndrome) and Jim Parsons portrayal of Sheldon has helped me immensely to understand how my son thinks...and his idiosyncrasies. Thank you to the cast, producers, and CBS for bringing this show to the airwaves. You have brought a light to the sometime darkness of the Autism spectrum.

They cant laugh all the way the same. It depends how funny it is, then there laugh will be different depending what scene is funny. This is live so the audiences are real. (WHAT ARE PEOPLE THINKING, THOSE AUDIENCES FAKE)? NO THERE REAL.

I love how all the haters are gathering up here in the comment section. I get a little bit annoyed by the people here, but then I remember that the show is rated 8.3/10 on Imdb and that most of the cast gets 1 million dollars per episode, so I'd still say that it's pretty successful.

We are so accustomed to laughter while watching sitcoms but when you think about it you realize how corny it is. Hearing random laughter every 5 seconds out of nowhere - sometimes not even real reactions. Just bizarre

People can enjoy whatever shows they want to enjoy, comedy is subjective. People should not have to worry about people harassing them because they enjoy bbt.

There’s times where the crowd has to stop laughing as a group to let the joke finished because they accidentally laughed too soon.

Personally, I think that anybody who thinks that the very popular TV sitcom, "The Big Bang Theory," has some kind of "laugh track" instead of an actual live audience must be that stupid! After all, the show's co-creator, Chuck Lorre, just doesn't believe in "laugh tracks" because that kind of device was from the 1960's and 1970's anyway.

i hate the audience forced laughing and hooting and clapping. it makes it feel that the show is trying to hard to make it funny. thats why i loved Malcolm in the middle type shows.

funny how they put effort to show us REAL people laughing while they add prerecorded laugh....so sofisticated.....

what I hate about our society is that fake laughing has become so prominent, that once you don't laugh out loud at something it's considered that you didn't find it funny. Try it out yourself, don't enhance your laugh artificially in any way, just let it overwhelm you if it can, you'd be surprised how rarely you actually laugh out loud. I often watch entire Stand-up Comedy shows without laughing, while actually finding some jokes pretty funny. If everyone in the audience was like me, the show would have been considered a disaster. I wish we would find a different way to show appreciation for comedy than to fake laugh and let the beauty of overwhelming uncontrolable laughter shine through again.

sometimes I'm watching a show and they say something and the ppl in the live audience are laughing soo hard and I'm just sitting there like 'that was funny but it wasn't THAT funny" idk maybe it's different when ur actually there but I always feel like these ppl will literally laugh at anything :/
