This is great! I had a 1995 Tercel with 8 15'' Fosgate DVC's. It was a 3 piece box with 2 subs facing the driver and passenger, and the rest were in an octagon shape around the first 2. It hit hard as hell .
with all that audio equipment that thing is gonna sag!!! what options do you think your going to use to solve this? lower the whole car? whatever you decide to do it will be a GROUND POUNDER!!! Love the vids!!! I've been a long time subscriber
I'm really curious, did you plan for airspace or anything or did you just build the biggest box that would possibly fit in the car? Anyways, sick build man I'm sure it'll be loud as hell.
Great solid start as usual. I enjoy following your builds. I am interested to see where you run all of the power/signal cables... I guess under the car. Wish I could hear the results!
are you going to swap the motor so it can power the stacks of alternators? its like $200 for a jdm motor and the swap should be very easy, so easy you can just lift the motor out with your bare hands
You never ever cease you amaze me and absolutely shit all over my design of my own box that i had in mind haha. i was going to use 2X4's and 3/4 inch MDF and some resin and a double layer baffle on the front for eight 10 inch PB low end subs but i might have to rethink that now........
steve, is the box only 3/4" thick on the sides? any bracing going in or is the structural integrity high enough to no need it with the glass and resin?
This makes me want to wall of my saturn. Looking forward to more pics on the forum. What resin did you use for the fiberglass, I'm guessing it wasn't your sun flash lol.
It's so crazy. This build looks exactly like my friends Geo Metro. He has 4 15" RD Audio subs. He built the box in the car and everything just like this. He is doing 157 dbs. He also has an s-10 with 3 15" DC level 5's that's doing 163.4.You can find the geo on the SMH forum is a candidate for SOTM.
Haha. Man, I used two watch your videos everyday in 2010. Here I am four years later LAUGHING my a.. off again. Plastidipped the windows! Id try that for sure if I didnt have too keep under the radar in a fishbowl.. mid summer lol.. do you still own that black tahoe? That suv was my favorite of your cars. Anyways keep it up bro.
Steve, I've been watching your vids for bout a year now, I'm wondering if the boxes you built were planned or you were just winging it. Either way, they look amazing and when finished, this box will hit hard
You can't just wing it... If you do you wind up with loading issues, port noise, too much port with no cone control, etc. Go get a copy of Torres Box Calculator.
meade916 I was curious to know what size cut out you had to do for the trim panel. I'm doing a single DC LVL 4 15" build and really like how you counter sink your speakers and woofers. Would I just cut it out to 15" with my circle jig? As always great work!
Mr. Steve, I was wondering, are you ever going to fix up the car? (i.e.: Paint, rims, engine, and everything else wrong with it) In other words, will this be a rolling box, or just a field 'show' box?
Haha love your stuff Steve keep doing what your doing bro I'm 13 so I can't wait until I can get a car and maybe put 2 15s in it keep up man you are a inspiration
I been subscribed to your channel for awhile and i was wondering if u had any album or artist recommendations? I listen to rittz and techn9ne and many others. I have a broad listening ear so any recommendations im sure ill enjoy.
meade916 hey how do you cut circles. I saw that guide and I thought that might have something to do with it. I always try to do it with a jigsaw and they never come out right no matter how slow or careful I go or how straight my line is. Do you have a better method?
This box you are building is incredible. I have been wondering how a good wall box is made and you have shockingly shown me how its supposed to be done. I cant wait for the next video. My future goal is to create something like this in my dodge avenger but just did not know how to go about it. But damn do you have my creative juices going. Thanks Steve and keep up the great work.
Steve, you have greatly underestimated the covering ability of PlastiDip. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rNY9Dx617N8.html ...and I'm a bit shocked there too since you've done some "dipping" yourself. If anything comes of this comment of mine, I hope the most that it inspires you to cover that crappy red car with a proper color!!! Love your vids otherwise!! *_*
did you do anything to brace the actual car so you dont lose cabin pressure from the car flexing? whats the rule 1watt is lost for every 1mm of resonance? or something like that lol its been awhile. or does that even matter since the box is big and thick enough to not vibrate
