Thanks Cali for the wonderful video, so much to see and enjoy! Shadow man with the huge fish, Jackie’s typical behavior of taking it away hehe. Love how Shadow has an obsession with cleaning his beak after handling fish 🐠 Jackie wolfing down the fish tail as she sneakily hides it from Spirit shhhhh..

I’m in my 60’s and I only recently found out how huge bald eagles 🦅 are. These birds are so majestic and magnificent. Observing this eagle family has taught me so much about their nature. Thank you for making these educational videos.

Nelly, You're in good company ♥️ same for most of us. Not like we all have these giants birds in our own yards to observe (I wish...). Like you I too have learned a ton by the efforts of FBBV to set this all up for outsiders to learn from and enjoy (and on many occasions be fully entertained..... 😂).

I fell in love with Spirit. She was my first eagle experience. When she fledged, it broke my heart but soon she’ll be going on to bigger and better things in life. I’ll never forget her! ♥️ now I’m watching the West End eaglets as they get ready to fledge. Ahote being the youngest of the 3 there already has fledged. So proud of him and Star and Kana Kini will soon fledge as well. Love these 3. All have great loving parents. May God grant you all long life and lots of babies! ♥️🦅♥️🦅♥️🦅♥️🦅

There's almost nothing more glorious than seeing Jackie fly in with a fish, the way she looks there upon entry. Her shock of white hair is just fabulous and the intensity of her expressions too. She sets the tone for the family, and Shadow measures up as a wonderful, kind Dad. The young one indeed is "a scream", and surely destined to be queenly like her Mom.

Spirit is fascinated by the different material of the camera from the trees. She’s smart and curious. She seems to be fledging further away from the nest since yesterday because she’s not flying in right after the fish arrives. I’m surprised that Jackie is not giving her the fish tail. ❤️ 🦅

the camera DO need to be cleaned........ that is usually done when someone goes up there to band the eaglets. by the way , ,why was spirit not banded ?

Silver TT - The first season Simba+Cookiee were Jackie+Shadow's first eaglets. Cookie (my opinion + some other others) - felt Cookie wasn't feeling great - liquid regurgitating (not alot) the day or two before banding - they banded them, then there was a horrible snow+ice storm (worse than the one this year with Jackie+Spirit) -Jackie could barely cover Simba and Cookie even less. It was said he died of hypothermia. Sone felt it was a combination of that plus the stress of the banding (they were very gentle with both eaglets) plus the stress of the horrific ice/snow storm. Such a sad event as Simba+Cookie were very bonded. - Stephanie

@@SW13333 right, thanks..... well i don't think banding hurts the eaglets, they forget about it the moment the human is gone from the nest..... these are not elephants with the long memory......LOL the cold is what took cookie. . so banding, perhaps with a gps tracker would be sweet imo..... so we would know where they are and if they are okay. but especially so the camera could be cleaned! 🙂

If she had been just a little later, she would have been threatening Shadow with toe bites to do another food run for her. That poor camera is going to need tome serious help by the time she has finished exploring it. Her curiosity about it is very interesting.

Does the baby get fed daily by Shadow & Jackie. I ask cause it seems to me it can't catch its own food right now. How much food does it consume in a day? I'm glad to see it Spirit? Is growing so healthy.
