So pleased you got to see them live after having to miss Tring. They are enthralling live enhancing the recorded music and the audience/band camaraderie is wonderful. Saw them at Swindon.

Likewise a home town gig for me and one of the best shows I've seen in years. Such (multi) talent. Alberto is now fully at ease in the group - and what a find he is. Never easy to replace a vocalist, especially in tragic circumstances. Third time seeing them and this was head and shoulders above the previous two, despite being less familiar with the songs. Such joy, energy and musicianship. A decent pint of ale too! You'll be lucky to see them in such a small venue again. Thanks for the review and spreading the word.

I'll be seeing them twice this weekend! Looking forward to it a lot. They were excellent last year and the year before, so I expect nothing less this time around.

Greg used to do some backing vocals in the past but with the vocal talent they have I guess he's happy to take a back seat on that these days! I saw them a Cadogan Hall in 2017 and again at Hackney Empire on the on The Grand Tour in 2019. It's wonderful to see how they have moved on from the tragic death of the great David Longdon. Alberto Bravin has been the ideal replacement. Agree with everything you said Jim.

On our way back from the final night at Cadogan Hall. Hard to believe it has been 7 years since my son James and I saw them there last. Even harder to believe that said son is now a 16 year old drummer 😂 Quite simply BBT were superb: Jim nailed it in his review- don’t miss any chance to see their band on this iteration. I don’t ever think I’ve seen an act enjoy themselves so much at a gig. Greg said to me afterwards that it’s because they love each other and that love encompasses and takes over the audience.

Hi Jim, I like them very much too. Great band, great musicianship. Of course I looked up where The Stables are. Nice place to live so to see. Outside the city, lots of lakes and a river; I would love it. I grew up in a village. The river Meuse at about 12 km.

I went to see them after you Jim, in Manchester. This was my first time watching the new line-up. Seen them once before with David fronting. Fantastic gig. Such a tight and talented band. I just loved how they casually moved around the stage, playing each other’s instruments. And those vocal harmonies are flawless! Having read a lot of comments from other gigs, I think they seem to have stuck to the same set list for all the shows. They may have inserted a couple of different tracks, I’m not sure, but certainly Edinburgh, Milton Keynes and Manchester were the same. Apollo is an absolute showstopper. Every time they play it it seems to take on more energy and be a little bit better than before. You can see why they love having this track in the set list. Clearly they love playing it. I honestly can’t wait till they’re back here again. I believe they have a final show in London.

Hi Jim, totally agree with everything you said, it turns out I must have been sitting on the same row as you as I too saw Pete T in the row in front of me, and was great to meet him as well as members of BBT after the show. Apollo is a monster live track, so climactic and joyous.

I saw the band in Newark, and i can replicate everything you said about the band. I can't wait to see them again. For now, i have to watch the new blu-ray on repeat. The new live release is worthy of a review 😉

Glad you enjoyed that. I'm seeing Wishbone Ash on Friday but BBT aren't playing Glasgow, alas. I don't know if you discussed this with anyone but 'not as good as/just as good as/better than when David Longdon was there?'
