Music is timeless like that. I rock to this, current, 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s, 50s even, and all sorts of genres including world music. Classics will always be classics because music transcends time
Goodie Mobb- get rich to this Big Boi - kryptonite Field Mobb- Project Dreams Young bloodz- 85 south Slim Cutta Calhoun- that's ok T.I. - Rubber Band Man T.I.- I'm serious T.I. - you know what it is Ludacris- what's your fantasy Ludacris- Through bows.
That’s a perfect way to describe some of OutKast songs when big boo had the creative control, real smooth get out the shower get dressed with some fresh clothes
The thing that fascinates me about his flow is how he manages to get all those consonants in there and still make it feel like it isn’t rushed or too tight. Same thing with Andre 3000, they’re the best in my opinion for rapping flow.
Scott Storch is absolutely slept on. His hands were ALL over the 2000s, his collaborations with Dre and Timbaland literally defined the sounds of pop and hip hop of an entire decade. He came up with the iconic piano for Still D.R.E… and the melody for Justin Timberlake’s “Cry me a River” Tell me this man doesnt deserve at least a Top 5 consideration: Fat Joe - “Lean Back” Chris Brown - “Run it!” Chris Brown - “Gimme that” Beyonce ft Sean Paul - “Baby Boy” 50 Cent - “Candy Shop” 50 Cent - “Just a Lil Bit” Justin Timberlake - “Cry Me a River” Mary J Blige - “Family Affair” Eve - “Let me blow ya mind” Busta Rhymes - “Break ya neck” Mario - “Let Me love you” Fat Joe ft Lil Wayne - “Make it Rain” Xzibit - “X”
People always want to say Andre 3000 is one of the best lyricists out there but Big Boi don't get his props. He is just as good as Andre 3000. This beat is ill. This is some state of the art type of production that has never been done.
Before they forgot about the funk that hip hop was birthed from. There is no Hip Hop without the funk. Just think how much of the Hip Hop of the 80s and 90s would disappear if they didn't get to sample James Brown, Earth Wind and Fire, George Clinton and etc.
I know 3k is regarded as the better of the 2 in outkast, and it's undisputed that he's the more avant garde, but I must say that I enjoy Big Boi's work just as much as Andre's, if not more.
+Toolsquatch they are not stealing idiot. if thwy stole the music it would sound exactly the same. i have never heard a song from anytime period sound EXACTLY like this
Not only is this a great song its a great music video as well, and the metaphors are amazing. 1:26, Hes climbing a mountain of shoes, as in hes climbing a mountain where many people have failed. Hes also climbing with a lady, who's holding him back. 2:12, he sees a lady, he opens his mouth and a shutter of different things passes by. As in he can open his mouth and be anything, the woman makes a choice and chooses him. 2:19 Same woman has his head, as his body dances elsewhere, like hes doing his thing, but his mind is on/with her. Just excellent
This doesn't even sound like a Scott Storch beat, but what do you know, he's the one who produced it. Unbelievable talent. I would donate a kidney to have that man mentor me for like a couple of months.
