@@AwesomeUSMovies Luckily marriages isn't a big deal. It's purely tradition based on political gain. And you seem to love her and that matters. Sucks that people get distracted by shallow things, otherwise stuff like that wouldn't hurt you for no real reason. Can't imagine investing emotion in such a superficial thing. But you do you. Just saying I love my family and stuff like that has no effect on us :) But I get it, if it matters to her it matters to you. Totally understand.

@@Gnossiene369 I bet your really fun at parties. Geez! Cold and detached much? What you call superficial/shallow most everyone else calls caring/love. It’s part of being a human being and not a robot. Missing out on walking his daughter down the aisle is a very real thing to most people. It’s understandable how he’d feel some way about losing that opportunity. His daughter is lucky to have such a loving father. What’s not understandable is not understanding it. Clearly your life experience lacked a lot for you not to be able to relate to very real feelings. Bless the family/friends in your life who have to feel the coldness from you. That is if you have any

I have to say, you’re the first reactor to this movie I’ve seen that actually understood that there was no way Coop could have stopped himself from leaving. Because if he did, he wouldn’t have made it to the tesseract in the first place. He would have created a kind of grandfather paradox for himself. Once Coop realizes he was brought there for a purpose, not just to be tortured by watching himself leave his kids, is when he shifts gears and starts relaying information both to himself (coordinates for NASA) and the quantum data that Murph needed to complete Professor Brands work. This movie is simply brilliant.

Top ten movie of all time. I was SO pleasently suprised. I just watched it for Matthew McConaughey's accent and found a FANTASTIC movie. Also, the scene where he watches the 23 years of messages is one of the saddest moments in movie history. They kicked me in the gut when they almost just glossed over his baby grandson being buried where they buried grandpa. It took me a minute to realize it. Then I had to pause the movie and fight a losing battle not to ugly cry. Then had to again do the exact same when Murph said "but...Todays my birthday" I caught that one immediatly and maybe cried even uglier.

32:25 Cooper was thrown from the wormhole still orbiting Saturn. And BTW, the 5D time-matrix structure he was trapped in was inside the black hole, not out in space. As weird as it seems, it may have been the singularity itself and the eventual exit out of Gargantua and back thru the wormhole to Saturn. 32:32 It's his actual house. Murphy solved the real "problem of gravity" in physics, (in the movie when she yelled "Eureka"), which enabled us to harness and control gravity. Antigravity dude! With that, they could easily and safely lift his house and move it into Murphy Station, and use that same power to lift that entire station itself, even whole cities, into space and likely use gravity to propel it to Saturn as well. I knew you'd like this movie, James. Note that one of the producers is Prof Kip Thorne of Caltech whose specialty are black holes, and was friends with Drs Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking. For another awesome scifi like this also with Matt McConaughey, and Jodie Foster do "Contact" (1997) a story written by Sagan. Certain you'll like that one too. 🖖👽

I love the concept of this movie. How it is really about a father and his daughter. But one thing that I always thought of is that he had to go, even though he is basically telling himself to stay. Because if he did not go, Murphy would have not been so driven to find her dad, ultimately saving humanity. I also think she lived so long just out of love and knowing in her heart she would see her dad again. (I just never had kids, wanted too but life has not worked out that way. When you mentioned their skin tone color difference, that will happen if he is always outside farming. I love your commentary on the science stuff. Him being the pilot makes sense if you heard that he previously flew for Nasa and that was the flashback at the very beginning. It looks like he was trying to perform a move similar to the water planet, but the first AI didn't trust Cooper's intuition and dropped power to the engines. Not many reactors catch that Tom's first child died and was buried out back with Grandpa, kudos. The doctor that found him said that a Ranger ship found him right before he ran out of oxygen. Since that was out by Saturn perhaps he came out of the wormhole when the ranger found him. Just a guess though.

We can definitely achieve 1 G in artificial gravity. It all depends on how quickly you spin the space craft. Hell, you can theoretically supercharge the sob and get Jupiter's gravity if you wanted to. The problem is expenses. No one has done it yet in space because the launch for a system that heavy and complex would be huge. Also, it's kinda dumb because you wouldn't have equal gravity throughout the entire vessel. The closer you get to the point of rotation, the less gravity you'll experience. Theoretically, you could jump hard enough to "Fall" through to the other side if the ring has an open central point, that could be bad for you and the spacecraft.

I'm so impressed and surprised that you know a lot about the science behind what's happening the entire movie just by reading a lot of sci-fi books. Growing up, I never really liked reading. I have brothers and close friends who really love to read. And now, I really feel like I missed out on the adventures of reading and am pretty envious. And I can see now that reading can really make an individual be more creative, fun and smart at the same time. Some of the science behind this movie was new for me when this came out (and it shouldn't be especially the time dilation). I'm so glad I saw a video on youtube about "watch this before watching Interstellar" (it's about some of the important science behind the movie). And let me tell you, if I haven't seen that video, I would have been lost watching this in the theaters. To think that I consider myself a scientific guy. This movies have just proven to me that there are still more things I have/need to learn and I don't know much. Anyway, hope you get to see more Nolan movies. You've seen others already too. Thomothy Shalamay. I thought he was French with that name. Lol he's in the newest Dune film, it's great you should put it on the list. I assume you read it.

This is my absolute favorite film of all time. It's really my favorite anything of all time. And I think it's one of the most important films. It is full of the two things most absent in the world today; wonder and awe. I first saw this film in theaters and it fundamentally changed the course of my life, influenced the individual I am today, and inspired me to help create a message to change the world. As I said this is one of the most important films ever made, in terms of it's message, and the pure beauty of it's artistry. The other most important film, and there are only these two as far as I'm concerned - is Cloud Atlas which I think you should watch next, if not very soon. It's based on a book, and having been a reader of books for 40 years as you say - I'm curuous if you've read it or not! More people need to be exposed to these films, and to all meaningful film in general and I'm glad that reaction channels became as popular as they are. Art should be propagated and circulated and passed around, and even though these are edited versions, channels just like yours help to do that! 😊

The ending of Interstellar was magnificent, although Nolan could have added a bit more content to make it easier to follow. -- After entering the black hole, Cooper's Ranger began to break up, so he ejected and was sucked into the singularity, where an immense tesseract had been placed by future humans (who had adapted to live in the 5th dimension) . -- After Cooper communicated with Murphy via gravity waves on her watch, the tesseract closed, and Cooper was jettisoned back through the wormhole. -- Travelling through the warped space-time of the wormhole, he encountered Endurance as it was arriving many years in the past. At that moment, he was a 5-dimensional being trying to "handshake" with Amelia. -- Cooper and TARS exited the wormhole by Saturn, and Rangers from Cooper Station located and rescued them. -- About 90 years had passed since Cooper left Earth. Thanks to Murphy's solution of gravity, humans were able to construct huge space stations and get off the Earth.

They can get 1g if the radius is wide enough. Also, the movie is not showing the time span between finding NASA, and the launch, then the trip to the wormhole itself was 2 years they didn't go into.
@AwesomeUSMovies

I'm sure there are a lot of simplifications in this movie.

@@AwesomeUSMovies Yeah. But they based it on real science with Kip Thorne for most of it. One of the most accurate movies made yet because of it. Even the artistic license of the black hole has some hard facts around it like the time dilation. One thing they didn't go into was how much time passed when he dropped off the ship and entered the black hole. But I guess by then it didn't matter since they can spit him out the wormhole at any point in time. Which brings up the question, why would he be sent back to his daughters deathbed.

NO WAY! this gets SO emotional for me especially of him saying goodbye to her and her runni outside after him as he drives away . Oh man 😢😢😢
