Really enjoyed watching this video. Love how the drama was so minuscule and not full of attention seekers. Purely real people. Don’t know why shows think we want total drama heads now. Originality works. Keep it that way.
Its so funny looking back at how serious the whole Nick thing was taken. It does clearly come to show tho how innocent the show was back then. Had Nick been in a C5 series no one would think anything of it ahahah
First Series was very good as none of the contestants were aware of how 'big' the show was, and how we all tuned into it in those largely pre-net days!
So Craig and others had names shown and it’s only taken then to tell people hmmm the only reason Craig deserved to win is because it went to help someone
The original Big Brother 1 housemates. These people started the Big Brother phenomenon. The original Big Brother in the early days of the show. Amazing.
So much more organic than what it became. Everyone had their own teeth, you could hear the train in the background and they didn’t play up to the cameras
Big Brother 1 is one of my favs definitely, the whole series use to be on here, until that account was terminated ugh such a shame as i loved watching it, the house and the tasks were so basic haha but there were more than enough personalities in the house to make it entertaining. Carolines cackle, Nicola, enough said lol, NASTY NICK! Tom was hot asfk and Mel and Andy, whey, Darren and Anna were really funny too. Thanks for putting these clips together.
If anyone was wondering, the order the housemates were evicted was: 1. Sada 2. Andrew 3. Caroline 4. Nick 5. Nichola 6. Tom 7. Claire 8. Mel 9. Darren 10. Anna 11. (Winner) - Craig
The original social experiment! This series reminded of of soap opera but without a script. It brought normal folk from different walks of life and it was amazing! The first 5 weeks of this series were amazing with the Nasty Nick story arc followed by the last 4 being really good aswell! Craig winning and what he did with the money was amazing Mel, Darren, Nick and Anna were amazing!! Recommend watching this one for sure to those that want to know how it all started!!
The only thing that bugged me was the rule breaks here and although the ensuing drama was fantastic & would've not allowed Big Brother the kick-start it needed, the pencil, writing things down was banned in Big Brother 1 as it was any other and should've been nipped in the bud early on. Chances are Nick being the character he was what with the made-up "Northern Terrorties" story, he would've found another way to to be outrageous. It was the reason he was found to be put in, in the 1st place. What that other "outrageous" thing would've been is hard to tell but would've been interesting.
Classic. The first one can't actually be tainted. I was 17 and I've got memories of asking my dad to tape it in my room on my VHS because I was going on my first lads holiday! It was just so new and different. There's actually more years that have passed since it aired than my actual age at the time. Bloody hell.
Agreed, it got totally messed up when started Celebrity Big Brother, that completely wrote it off! Now it's celebrity everything, and nothing for Joe Public! Dont bother with any of it now..
thanks for whoever put this together. it kind of blew my mind to watch it. its more than 20 years ago, in my mind these people were all pretty old, like 30s and 40s. but apparently darren was like 23.. thats insane he looks at least 45. nasty nick was 32.. in my mind he was like 50. And did bras not exist back in 2000 or what?
No in the 90s and early 00s alot of women didn't wear bras, as it was alot more free. I mean anything past 2010, people go all prudish about seeing nipples etc but in the early/mid 00s, 90s, 80's and 70s, no one gave a shit. I'd do anything to go back, my best years were in the 90's especially, the rave scene was everything and you were at weak wildness
This was when we had PROPER T.V Now we have that Love Island SHITE It gets worse ITV have ordered a series of SHITE ISLAND for the winter as well as the Summer All about Ratings and Money
@@baddbhadd6527 S SHITE ISLAND started in 2015 It was on in 2005 and 2006 but CANCELLED because of poor ratings BB started in 2000 If you do not believe these FACTS go to Wikipedia before you start shouting your mouth off
@@baddbhadd6527 it started years after Big Brother and its fucking terrible. It has a bunch of self centered old slags that all sound and look the same. Each one a carbon copy of the other a bunch of dirty tarts who fuck anything with a cock.
I didn't understand it aged 15 back in 2000, I don't understand it aged 34 in 2019 how Craig won. His accent alone annoyed the fuck out of me. On a side note, do we think Channel 4 might do a then: now catch up next year as unbelievably, this seems like yesterday to me, it was 20 fucking years ago!
I watched the first series in full for the very first time recently and was almost in a kind of awe at how well he played them all. Guy didn't just play the game, he invented the game lol.
@@zufghI miss the first 3 season back when it wasn't scripted and edited like crazy it was good times back then Nick and Charles Ingram (who wants to be a millionaire) were two seriously crafty men, I gotta take my hat off to them 😂😂 Look up dude I just mentioned
Oh is that what is ? I remember as soon as it went to channel 5 his voice became soooooo exaggerated. Didn’t realise it was this different to begin with 😂😂
Where it all began. Cannot believe its been 19 years! Guys, this was pre 9/11 😳 arguably BB2 and BB 5 were both better, but this is where it all began. Anna was cheated out of the win! 19 years later and I still believe that to this day 😋
I actually met Nicky before she went Into the house. She was working as an artist In an after school club In Bolton. She told me she was going to be on TV
I'm literally searching for that right now, can't find it anywhere. Im just after being watching the best episodes on All 4 and wanted to see that moment again. Fair play to him 👏🏻
It's so weird, when I first watched this I couldn't stand Mel. Now she's the only sane one in the house. I think I was just jealous; she's gorgeous and well-spoken and calm.
So funny how SERIOUS everyone was over Nick breaking the rules. If it was now, we’d just have 8 hysterical women and 4 tearful gay guys threatening to leave cos the hot water was going off for an hour lol
What's with all these manly looking men giving me a complex? you've got Andy and Darren who look like they have 2 wives and 17 kids to support (minus the wife part for Darren) and I still look like I'm waiting for the tail end of puberty to kick in at my mid twenties!
Anna and Craig were definitely the nicest characters that year. ''Nasty Nick''....I remember I was agog at his actions! But...''It's only a gameshow!'' no Big Brother was quite as good after, as they knew they would get ''Fame'' for being in the house. The first group didn't know that.
That happens with all reality tv shows though like love island the first and second series islanders had no idea they were going to be famous so it felt more genuine unlike the later seasons
good point, although some of the later ones were definitely entertaining, they were just filled with horrible disgusting people. looking back at this, series 1 was more or less a selection of normal folk.
This really isn't any different from Big Brother in 2018. The first ever series is so overrated by fans. Craig was a terrible winner. He only won because of the charity sob story. These days he spends his days slagging the show.
The show was an absolute revelation when it first came out, completely original. Should have ended after BB3 and bowed out with dignity. The milk turned sour after that.
