Bill, I just wanted to take a minute and say how much I admired your hunt. First "when in doubt, back out" and you did exactly that. Then you spent a fair bit of time and considerable woodsman ship/tracking a deer through some pretty thick stuff. It's hunters like you that give 100% to making sure they try as much as possible to recovering game that make me proud to subscribe to your channel. You also said something about this being your 100th deer with traditional or self bow and you being lucky. Lucky happens once in a while. You and your wife remind me of one of my all time favorite VHS hunting video of all time from the 80s. The show was called "Corn Stalk," hunting big bucks in the corn using - Corn man camo, filmed near me in Jaspar Mi... Excellent example of not giving up!! Great tracking job, too!! I've always said that the hunt doesn't start until you get on the ground and get on the blood trail. I had a similar experience with a Black Widow recurve back in the early '90's and my buck (looking very much like this deer) ended up in the river. I spotted it caught in a branch that had fallen in the river. Don't give up!!!

Congratulations on that fine buck and 100th deer. What impresses me most is your woodsman ship in tracking that deer when the blood trail was sparse and sometimes non existence. A lot of hunters would have given up. You showed on film the easy parts of tracking. I know from experience the distance you said the deer traveled and the location of the hit that it wasn't all that easy of a tracking job. Great job on recovering that buck.

Awesome hunt. I find it hard to force myself to aim forward with my longbow on those slightly quartering to shots. Deer's reaction classic for that shot placement. I am suprised he went that far...given that rigor mortise set in pretty good he died fairly fast. I had a liver/1 lung hit that ran about 250 yards but was dead when I went after him 2 hours later. Thanks for sharing.

Bill, Congrats on #100! How did you go about keeping track of the exact number of deer you harvested over the years? All 100 were with a traditional bow? You Keep mentioning lucky. No, God allowed you through HIS sovereign grace to Allow you to have all the memories and the beautiful family that you have... You may know hunting but I know what the Word of God says.... lt says God ordains everything that comes to pass Through either HIS DECREATIVE WILL , PRESCRIPTIVE WILL and HIS PERMISSIVE WILL.... Your whole life you've been Living in HIS PERMISSIVE WILL.... A place Believe me when you take your last breath you won't want to be..... God-created everything In heaven and on Earth.... Many people say they believe in God but It's not the God of scripture it's a God they've made up in their own Image somebody who they can snuggle up to......
