Big Cat Fish Small Lake Omaha NE - 1 Surprise on the line & 3 Catfish including 14+, 7+ & 3 Pounders
This is my First Fishing RU-vid video. Not my biggest fish out of this lake but still a fun evening in June 2020. Any time you can catch a 14pound catfish and 7+ pound Catfish and a 2+ pound Catfish and catch a surprise that probably weighed 12 to 16 pounds for The first catch of the day I was not expecting and didn't even realize I had him on the line.
Hope you enjoy the video, I cut out pretty much all of the waiting time between catches but my favorite catch was the last one of the night for sure. When you see the video you will see the excitement of both of my lines get hit at the same time and I lost the one on the pole on the right and got the big one on the pole on the left. It put up a pretty decent fight and it was fun.
I had my poles rigged with 50 pound braided line, mostly because this lake is so weeded over right now It's adding a ton of extra pressure on the line just getting the line back with out a fish.
If you watch this video and know where this lake is at and you go to catch a big catfish, please put it back in the water and let them live another day. A big catfish like these should be released as soon as possible and or if you plan on taking a lot of photos and keeping it out of the water for any length of time at least put it on a stringer and let it get some rest in the water.
I am a catch and release on all the fish I catch, I don't eat fish I just like the time outdoors with my little Shih Tzu and if I have to social distance I will social distancing outside at the lake. I love the people I meet and
I am posting this video for family and friends and mostly just thought I would bring the Go pro in the off chance I would catch a big fish at this Small Lake in West Omaha, NE. I am telling you on a regular basis, i have 3 or 4 good spots on the lake but all 3 of my favorite spots, Last year my biggest catfish on the shore areas of the lake was 18.8 pounds and caught more than 15 Big Catfish ranging from 13 pounds to 18 pounds so I would say this lake could have some huge fish in the next couple years if every one does catch and release, I know that 18.8 pound catfish I caught in Late February 2019 has got to added another pound or so back ON IN THE LAST YEAR AND 4 MONTHS , There is a pretty identifying mark on his mouth, so I f I catch that one I will show it on you tube,
AS I WAS SAYING there are some pretty decent size catfish. Last year my biggest from this lake was 26 pounder right off the peer by the boat docks, late at night just got lucky. .
