My husband worked at Walmart for over 30 years all this means is worker are going to lose their job. It's like when they put in self check out registrar they let go over a thousand cashier go. Now they want haven't to have people changing tags. Walmart has always been like that they don't care about their employees. Have a blessed day.
Been in a couple Walmarts where the phone doesn’t even work in there and there’s times I’m even up at the self check out by the window upfront of the store and I can’t get my PayPal to see how much is in there because the phone won’t work close to the doors either
My dad was saying Kroger is talking about surge pricing (increasing prices during peak shopping hours) and it made me wonder if walmart is moving towards this too.
It is estimated that 97% people in the world have cellphones, even many homeless people own a cell phone. There are actually government sponsored programs called Lifeline that will help the poor pay their mobile subscription bills. I wish I had known about it sooner because I actually just got my first cellphone, last year. Before that I had to depend on a stores wifi to shop on my ipod and use family members phone numbers.
Love you just posted this. I just left a Chicagoland location that has this. I have a few thoughts. As a former retail manager, all this "save the environment " talk is hilarious. It is ALWAYS about the bottom line and keeping shareholders happy. This WILL impact jobs just like self checkout did but everyone said it wouldn't. Especially in places like Chicago were our wages keep increases...companies are looking for ways to get more for less pay or staff. I just did self checkout and my phone charger was $6.17 at register vs $5.88 on digital screen...so interesting🤔Customer service, staff, courtesy and trying to get a price adjustment has become nightmare. Why have three people standing around checking reciepts at the door? but your prices are still wrong, a couple registers open, staff refuse to speak or busy doing pickup orders😢 I really hate everything about Walmart can you tell
Last week I had one of the pickup order employees wheel up & around to stop at a weird angle in front of me as I was moving. My thoughts were there on that one. Years ago, it was shelf stackers who blocked & took up aisles barricading products with boxes. As I’m starting this couponing venture, I like the pocket book aspect of savings at Walmart, but I’m finding myself missing & liking my favorite local grocery store even more!
@@crystalbluewaters Same. I hate Walmart and what it has become. However, just like Amazon they control a segment of shopping. Walmart has become the largest grocery store by design and like you said most of us are somewhat forced to vote with our wallets/purses for the best price. I try to go to Target, Jewel-Osco & Aldi as much as possible but Walmart savings/couponing keep them in rotation unfortunately. CNBC on RU-vid does an excellent job on short videos on businesses behind the scenes suck as Walmart, Starbucks, Chipotle and etc.
@@TJ-yv3kp the driver less floor cleaner thing was literally following me from aisle to aisle.... I kind of stood in the way the next time it did it in a crowded aisle & got it stuck sideways. It couldn't move because it saw the shelves as an obstacle. It stopped following me after that lol.
They have these at the walmart in dfw area. They look like the kindle paper if you've ever seen those. It's hard to even see they're digital, and they are small with a very narrow field of view - ie, you can only read the tags closest to you, even ones a step away are very hard to see. I saw one flickering while I was shopping, and yep! The prices changed! Turns out they were putting things on clearance.
I think this would be good for clearance items as far as knowing the right price, however, hidden clearance would no longer be a thing. If anything I think this would be more time consuming for us, it's one more scan we have to do along with the rebate apps. As of now, I'm not too concerned but we shall see!!! Thank you for always keeping us up to date on changes!
We have a grocery store chain in my area that has 22 locations. They went to the digital tags about a year ago and I have not had any discrepancies on any items so far. I usually just go in for the sale items and buy the bulk of my groceries at Walmart. The sale items are tagged correctly and have rung up correctly when compared to the sale ad. Their tags also have a digital red border around clearance items with the word clearance which is nice.
I heard about the new digital tags at Walmart I'm not a fan of them either in my town our Schnucks store has the digital tags I wonder about pricing to God Bless You Nick 😊❤
ALDI has those electronic tags. I recently bought some Werther's Caramels, and they rang up at a different price than what was on the electronic tag. So, those tags may not fix that issue at Walmart.
When i shopped at walmart I took pictures of the price as I shopped. I will continue to take pictures and I'll claim walmart is doing fraud on me if the price goes up.
I’ve been in a couple of stores with this digital price tag technology. It’s pretty cool, but I would think that if we were adding things to our Walmart + cart, that whatever the price is at that moment (in the app), would remain the price through checkout. Hopefully 🤞🏼🙏🏼
I've seen this done in a store around me. It was just in the pharmacy on a few shelves. They have certain stores in our area to test new ideas. It's probably because we are so close to the home office. Share holders meeting time is always fun. Not!
I’ve debated getting Walmart plus, but at the moment I feel like Walmart wants it pushed on me in order to shop & scan. Last week when I was in Walmart, the app wouldn’t tell me prices unless I get the membership. Having a membership is Sam’s club, Walmart has always been free to walk in & shop.
I am of the understanding that they will use them to see whose buying and change it to what they think you will pay. For example a mom with kids the. Price will show up lower than just say you go in to pick up the same thing. Scary times.
Don't think it will change much for me. They can change the price now in the system between getting it off the shelf and ringing it up. Unless it's something I really want I just leave it behind. They actually can price over ride anything at the register without even going to look and use to be instructed to do that anyway. Back when I worked there every single month we had meetings where it was drilled into us. Don't make a customer mad over a couple dollars. So unless it was some crazy price change we just over ride and go on. But they act like 5 cents is gonna break them these days. Customer service has drastically dropped. Just wondering about the bottom line of installation for all that computer stuff on every aisle. You know whose gonna pay for that, the customer
That may depend on the individual store you are at. I had a fight over an item that was an endcap price and didn't ring up correctly at the register. I told the cashier, and they sent someone to look. 5 minutes later they came back and said the regular aisle had the correct price 🤦♀️ I had to walk over to the display, take a pic, then go the the customer service line! So if something rings up wrong, I'll just tell them to void it, they can keep it.
Four Walmart stores closed in surrounding areas in my area there were a lot of things they didn't have that I wanted I shopped there several times by it being the local Walmart they will be out of a lot of things.
They have it in my stores, and the employees that pull stock for curbside says it helps a lot, they are called flash tags, so on the hand held they press the screen for the product they are looking for and the new tags flash so it’s easier and quicker to find items. Now the spark drivers need this feature as well.
Like Kroger....raising prices ELECTRONICALLY during busy times. Kroger is a rip off. Talk about price gouging. All stores will rip us off if they can. It's sad. And like penny says below the self checkout just takes peoples jobs and thats true but the pathetic thing is that at my walmart.....people wont work! its so lame it is ridiculous. Not like it used to be.
Please it's Walmart it's not longer let's help the consumer let's squeeze everything we can out of them. They completely just ignored a whole generation. Our seniors want to use cellphones for everything. Besides Walmart is the giant that starts these things and other companies follow to see how Walmart does it. Please they want to continue to fatten their pockets
Only walmart would pretend that buying an electronic that relies on rare-earth minerals is "less wasteful" than using a slip of paper. It really smells like they're full of it.
The workers aren't working already as it it with self checkout. Why have a digital tags when it takes aways another job from the actual store workers. People are now lazy and try to find ways to not work and this is another one
We want worker's to actually work and not sit on their Butt. Taking a way almost all the regular cash registers and now theirs self check nobody is hardly working at all as it is
Question off topic: How do you submit your receipt for the Rockstar Rebate? The site was Vague to me, didn't understand how to do it, I sent my receipt to Pepsi Co. On messenger but nothing has happened, so I figured I done something wrong.. lol Was hoping maybe you could guild me on this please.
Another Rock Star question. I have been submitting my 2 RS every 14 days. I did a referral and received notice the friend submitted her receipt. Therefore I thought that I could submit for multiple offers. I only received $5 for the purchase of 2 RS. Can anyone help with multiple purchases?
@@emmabrasseur8622 when you get a referral it basically takes away your 2 week one. So it only works if you’re getting tons otherwise it’s not really a bonus. The same thing happened to me.
@@noraeck4095go to one of nicks haul videos and use his referral link since it’s his video. I think he posts it in every printable breakdown. It will start your text thread. And then you just use the same text for the remainder of the year.
