Sinton has a new massive rolled steel factory. It's one of the largest in the lower 48. I think it's called General Dynamics. Should bring hundreds of jobs to the area. It is Huge!! Thanks Dennis love the videos!!

Good evening Dennis!! I like visiting my old living places, just shows you the times they are changing. I have not visited my country home, mainly I guess because its gone and there is something different there and I think Id be sad because i lived there over 30 years. But im happy where I am so its all good. You had a beautiful day for a short ride, skies were pretty, choo choo, ready to roll out. Used to take my grandaughter to watch the trains all the time when she lived with me, it was free and it was fun. It was a good first of the year day for me hope it was for you too my friend

Wow Portland has really grown since I've been down there. Beautiful blue skys! We're getting storms coming in tomorrow. Cold spa sounds pretty "COOL"!🤣🤣🤣

I also like the fields next to the apartments. If I lived there I would want one with a field view. It's interesting going back to old places where one used to live. I have a lot of memories of living in The Veranda in Corpus, I need to drive through it one day again just to relive old memories of being an 8 year old. It's interesting to know that you had a bad experience there because if I didn't know better I would think it was a really nice place. Sadly a lot of apartment complexes are trash, no matter how nice they seem from the outside. I lived at the famous Paradise Bay back in 2012-2014.....I believe all the stories people tell about it. Even without the conveniences of an apartment, I think living in the truck is better than dealing with bad apartments.

Hey Dennis. Happy New year. I lived in Portland from around 1963 to 1972 or there abouts. We lived up on Austin St, the 4th house in from Lang Dr. It was all fields from there to the Junior HS and the High school. Sure has changed.

Thanks for a tour of how Portland looks now. I consider the five years I taught in their school system as the best of my 34 year career. The kids and families were awesome, the admin was supportive. Back in the 80's, the workload was manageable and I had time to organize a lot of outdoor experiences for my students. Last spring I visited the area and saw that the junior high had been entirely rebuilt.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning, great is they faithfulness O God ❤️🙏

Awesome video, Dennis! You caught trains AND cats for me! 🚂🚂🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ I've always considered black cats to be good luck, so I'd say two black cats is double good luck for you. I think Union Pacific 2212 had shown up in one of your prior videos. That one is an EMD SD60. The other one 1804 is an EMD SD40N which is very similar to the diesel in I rode through Lehigh Gorge during fall foliage this year. Cool to see and hear them! Also fun to have another look at your last sticks-and-bricks home. All that new development down there is amazing! You don't see anything like that around here except for the dreadfully bland warehouses they've been planting in every field. Well I'm still trying to warm up from being out railfanning all day today. Caught my first BNSF today ... twice! Not sure if that's a similar good omen to you seeing two black cats, but I guess 2023 will let us know. Happy New Year my friend!
