For all the people who said Hyenas / pharaoh were a separate team and it doesn't have any impact on warhammer 3. Look at this patch. This is what happens when they're focusing on one project at a time.
@@tyrantITALol with some of the stuff I saw. Im inclined to agree. They should be open about it and just integrate mods into the game more often. Least of all the quality of life stuff thats been a thing since Warhammer 1. Like better camera
@@BlakesTakes420 You are right. With the rework new Nurgle will rise from the bottom and take over next two weakest races. Empire and Dwarfs. As long as they don't get reworks where grudges are more interesting and Gelt moves to Cathay Nurgle can finally say that they are not the worst. 😀
it feels like someone at CA just bonged on the head of some higherups and told them "wtf are yall doing?" Finally feels like we are back at the peak of Warhammer.
Imma wait and see, i'll give them my money this dlc without waiting since it seems they are taking this the right direction but remember to remain cautious brothers
Honestly now I wish that Vlad could participate in the empire. Imagine that after conquering all of Sylvania he is giving a dilemma to determine if he wishes to become the evil undead wave, being neutral or to kick the empire into gear to fight chaos (he is evil, but not stupid) and the choice unlocks new dilemmas, quests and the possibility to be recognized as the official elector of the province (never 100% a friend, but better have the super vampire as a ally intead of a enemy)
Only thing that still cankers my sores is that great unclean ones still really need a reason to exist. I think it might be interesting if they acted like a bloated corpse on steroids And went up like a smelly doomrocket when they died XD Like they're not as good as other big monsters and still kinda expensive but having something that tough and that dangerous that goes up like an attomic bomb made of eggy farts. Even if it's not as destructive and just adds a dot over a massive area. I think it would be cool.
@@ramezhachicho1777 100% agree. The only thing that makes them worth recruiting is when you have the technologies that give them bound spells. They should have some kind of mortis engine effect or regeneration or something because at the moment they're basically worse giants.
Of course I'm excited. I will admit, it looks like the dwarf rework isn't for me, but that's fine. Empire (Gelt mainly) and Nurgle both look extreamly fun. I truly look forward to it. Glad you are in the creator program, Blake. I thought I would never see a patch reworking more than 1 race. Let alone 3 and giving new faction mechanics at that. Beautiful stuff.
The empire changes are such a great step in the right direction. Nurgles and dwarves I didn't have an issue with but its cool ( I will miss getting slayers whenever my grudges build up in the dwarves tbh tho)
Did you play them? I like being tanky while debuffing as well as artillery and guns so I've played a lot more Nurgle and Dwarfs than Empire and they've needed a lot of polish.
What they did for Dwarfs with this grudge system would be a great framework for a reworked version of Lizardmen Sacred Spawnings, maybe with specific temple cities or from empowering geomantic web connections and focusing on expanding into areas to fix the web.
I tried playing Nurgle once and personally wasn't a fan of the growth cycle his peoples buildings have. Empire is real fun to just amass a doomstack of riflemen and cannons and turn the fields of Warhammer III into the Napoleonic Wars
Not to imply that *finally* getting the iconic Imperial Engineers or the desperately needed rework of Prestige and Imperial Authority aren't hugely welcome landmark updates, but are they doing anything about the completely bananas upkeep cost for Empire armies yet?
Engineers are a much needed addition. Regarding the upkeep costs, they've reworked a lot of the upkeep and tiers of units on the build I'm playing on currently.
This DLC provides what I always wanted: Not only a handful of new units, but also updates to outdated mechanics and races as a whole. The fact that you can now buy them separately is just the icing on the cake.
I just bought Total Warhammer III, and specifically Warhammer I for cheap alongside it because the Empire and Dwarfs seem worth the investment after this patch. I already remember I found it quite fun using gunpowder and artillery to mow down fancy fantasy races when I, ahum, tried out Warhammer II for a bit through unspecified means.
I cautiously optimistic about the coming patch and DLC. It seemed like they've awakened to the fact that the playerbase won't settle for half-measures, and are actually trying to do a good job of it. And for the first time in quite a long time, I'm actually interested in all the content coming in. That said, I'm not getting the DLC until the reviews start to roll in.
I am going to miss the bloated dwarf tech tree. I kinda like the idea that the dwarfs had all this knowledge but were too stubborn to learn everything. Though the new one will help with making sure they don't feel "bad" to play.
I'm more excited about the changes to the already existing factions than the new lords, so I'm not really required to buy the DLC, except for the units added, but this will be the first DLC I buy because I want to support the devs when they do such a great job
The Elector Counts rework is very welcome. It pretty much changes it from babysitting a bunch of toddlers to actually managing an empire. Though the Dwarfs are easily my favorite with the rework of the Great Book of Grudges, the Age of Reckoning, the moving of units from one tier to another(Dwarf Warriors now being a settlement and not a barracks unit is a notable positive), and all the new Slayer units and heroes all being so amazing. The Ancestor Gods really blessed us here.
While it is kind of sad to think why we get all these exquisite new toys and care, it truly is appreciated! This patch absolutely rocks even if you ignore the dlc, which also seems to be quite nice. I am going to stay in my naive bubble and think we will get more amazing reworks and new content in the future! One thing i am particularly hopeful about is seeing this patch doing good (and it deserves to do good) so then the people behind both the developement and the marketing of the game will want to make more amazing things like this. Also good to hear your voice again, Blake, it's so pleasant!
Well this update has gotten me to reinstall the game, and by the beard the Dwarf update looks great!!! This is the first update in a long while that Im actually looking forward too. I hope CA keeps cooking like this.
So happy that I no longer have to rush to save my stunty lords! Sylvania and Greenskins tend to gobble them up before they've been sweettalked into confed most of my campaigns.
Been waiting for a Dawi rework since mid tww2. This all looks very good imo. I can finally bear to play Ungrim again without becoming a turtle, or a broke ass dwarf.
Idk why more channels and creators aren't covering the dwarf unit changes, I'm not sure how I feel about how flame cannons and brimstone guns becoming long range irondrakes.
Love that CA are desperately cooking to get some good will back. Good to know that they very well can do it, let’s just see if they forget by the next DLC
Am I missing something or did Nurgle not gain much of anything? All i heard was that their early turns got hit and got nothing to compensate? You also didn't mention anything about their tech tree except they got a "massive shake up" like the dwarfs, I assume its either nothing huge or you didn't have the time to talk about it
ah sorry, thats a really good point. I forgot to add in a section about Nurgle tech - my mistake. The Nurgle tech tree has seen a significant shake up - a lot more powerful techs and split into and economy and troops-based techs. They're significantly better in terms of tech now. The plagues are a nicer mechanic now, but I don't rate the effects really. The uber plagues of before were much better, and now you rely on RNG for blessed symptoms. Easy fix is to increase the numbers on the buffs and debuffs though so not a deal breaker.
So I'm playing the game while I watch this. This is my... ten millionth Karl Franz campaign? Anyway, I just sold Lorkhir Fellheart a shitty little city in Cathay for 64k and I just need to shout it to the world I'm so damn hyped. I'll smoke to that. Fuckin righteous.
I'm a little bit bummed out about Nurgle losing the cyclical economy stuff. It feels like there's not much point at all to the cycling without the income going up and down. The rest of it does look incredible though so I am excited, but I wonder if there'll be a mod to put the economy back to how it was.
I agree, I liked the cyclical buildings. But having your economy constantly fluctuating was impossible to manage. It still sort of is, killing and sacking is how you'll make your money.
Even though I don't own WH3, I have to say these changes are phenomenal. Old mechanics are being reworked, Karl got a significant buff with that military access and replenishment in neutral territory. Absolutely needed change after doing my legendary Empire game, not being able to attack someone without casuing an incident with another count and leaving them be was a massive issue I had when playing. Balty also getting a new location is a very welcomed suprise, I'd say most people are more than used to at this point with him being stationed in the southern bit of the Empire, but this change feel like the right one. His new mechanic seems like the appropriate change. As for Nurgle, can't give an opinion considering i haven't played them. Dwarfs though, they are going for a reckoning, these changes are massive, this will surely change up their playstyle a lot which is needed. The new global Grudge system is wonderful and the mercs will be a game changer. Im assuming you left out the new units Blake? Im more than happy to wait till you post about, very excited to see what they cooked up.
Yes Herr general, I'm under embargo for the new units so can't discuss them yet. I will be reviewing the Thrones of Decay DLC though, so you'll have my thoughts on the DLC on the 29th of this month sir when my embargo drops.
Nahhh Nurgle doing this well has to just be part of Tzeentch’s grand plan to get an even better rework later, we just don’t understand his machinations
@@BlakesTakes420 Tzeentch feeling depressed must also be part of his plans, don’t worry everyone Tzeentch is totally fine, ignore the crying in the corner, that’s also all part of the plan.
@@BlakesTakes420 I uhm... let's just say that due to a spike in Nurgle corruption, funds have yet to be assigned to repairing the public order building.
@@BlakesTakes420 this is what i mean indeed. it makes no sense to say "indeed" before you've even made a point, especially if you say indeed in a monologue, agreeing with your own statements, indeed I'm right
bro absolutely adores that kislev theme, uses it in every video lmao. Don't blame him though, CA don't miss with the music in this franchise at least...
Kislev, Cathay, and Tzeench got the short end of the stick. This dlc is a big improvement compared to shadows of change that literally changes nothing but adding units.
I think I am in the minority when I say that I actually really liked playing Gelt inside the empire, felt like some real "Power behind the throne" business, so it breaks my heart a little to see him in Cathay, but I guess it fits his theme a lot better to be a questing wizard
