I love your big chop, Ebony! I am on the same boat as you. My hair length was a little past the shoulder. I did mine (for the 3rd time too) yesterday and felt good. However when I showed it to my mom today, she was acted very dramatic and said some harsh and hurtful words. When dealing with Caribbean parents growing up, a girl or woman cutting her hair is like committing suicide or having mental problems. If I was I younger facing that lack of support and understanding, I would have cried and felt ashamed. Now as a 32-year old GROWN woman, I don't care at all. My response to her was, "It's MY HAIR, MY BODY, MY CHOICE, AND MY LIFE. Deal with it. You'll be aight!" Sorry, not sorry! Take care, love!
@@junithpierre882 thank you love. One thing I’ve learned is to do what’s best for you. I’ve spent the majority of my life caring about what my family thinks. I had to realize I wasn’t happy trying to be who they wanted me to be. I use to have to hide the “weird” things that made me happy. I enjoy nature , I don’t smoke or drink, I don’t like drama or negative situations. I enjoy reading and learning about different cultures . You’d be surprised at how that makes some of my family angry. I’ve literally created my happy , carefree life and I’m happy I chose me and would do it again. Keep being you !!
