When we leave the house I take my bug out bag with me , never thought I would need it but we got stuck in west Portsmouth due to our motor blowing, we were trying to save money so for food we ate MRE's, we had no clue where we were at out GPS took us on a backroad.. James, this was such an excellent video. I realized that several things I had prepared to ‘bug out’ would not work. My tent is too big, my sleeping bag and my bug out bag much to heavy for me to carry long distance. I realized that I am really prepared to ‘bug in’ not to bug out. @@davidokeefe9303 building it you can make it how you want it and if you already have a good bike then you can turn it into an e-bike, johnny nerd out has made it into a business, shop bought bikes cost a lot for little return plus they're usual made from from one off parts meaning they're specific to that brand which makes getting replacement parts a huge problem, brands like bafang are huge and have a massive aftermarket and following to match.... follow johnny's videos if you want to build your own it's really not as hard as many think, you'll also have a better bike than any store bought bike (if you're not confident johnny can build your bike for you if you're in the USA) or he can just give you advice.... good luck

In the absence of very immediate threat, consider what a rapid shut down of your property might look like. It may become your fall back position if needed. Draw water for storage. Secure those propane tanks. Draw curtains, secure windows. Hide some resources. It is impossible to secure houses in your absence but do what you can. BTW, if you are that far ahead of the curve, buy all the meals you can on the way and save your supplies.

1. When the hero left the house for a long time, I did not see how he turned off the water and gas supply, turned off the electricity. In addition, if he was preparing and knew that he would have to leave the house, it would be wise to get shutters or roller shutters on the windows and a reinforced door. 2. I understand that when the hero stays overnight with a friend, I wanted to show how he does it autonomously. But it is very strange that in a country house there was no place at least in the garage to accommodate just one guest. :-) All the same, an autonomous overnight stay should have been shown in the wild, it seems to me.

Well...it was an entertaining video and a well planned perfect bug out. Not all of us have a friend who has such access to privy inside information, so that was a little bit unusual. I can understand that showing up at a good friend's house out of the blue would be a little imposing, but any of them would have offered their couch at the very least. And not giving you access to fresh clean water, thats kinda unrealistic. I do like and want one of those bikes. Although not many people have or can afford one, they are quite expensive. So, I'd say that was a bug out in a perfect condition. Still it was an enjoyable and well narrated video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with us.
@tennesseeterri

In this fictitious but very believable scenario, that sleeping in a tent and filtering his own water was to show people that they could do it also. Sure the friend could have let him sleep on the couch but we wouldn't have learned anything from that.

James, this is another great one. As much as I enjoyed the 1790s series, this is a bit more immediately relevant. I pray that those who aren't paying attention NEVER find out that, sometimes it rains, rains can cause floods, floods can displace and kill many but they weren't ready. From the ending, I assume that you are planing a series. If this is to test the response to see how much time you can afford to apply then I'd like to encourage everyone watching to subscribe, like, comment and share with at least two people. Not that I wouldn't have anyway but let's go fellow subscribers! We have about 18 hours for the best chance to really get this snowball started.

Good morning James from Quebec Of all the videos I've listened to on RU-vid this one is the most realistic, of all these "pro" of survival, (who will not survive what is coming and it's a shame..) But you are... for one reason only You don't go alone, You know the one you thank (in each of your videos) before each meal... (We are few to thank him... especially when nothing works anymore)... Thank you James for your humility in presenting it "We'll meet after the apocalypse"... (sorry for my English, it's not my first language) so I use a translator)... good end of day to you and your family 👍

1. I like his choice in backpack. It isn't military issue nor does it look like it. It has a Camelbak storage option. It has both chest and waist straps. 2. I have often said bicycles are the way to go. Low noise. Travel faster than on foot. They have some additional storage options. Many models can be carried over obstacles you can't ride over. 3. A man after my own heart. Three separate propane tanks for the grill. Who needs electricity? 4. I have also said that if you can't reach your bugout location within three days, odds are you aren't going to get there before you either run into trouble or somebody else beats you to it. 70 miles. Assuming 10 hours of travel a day over three days that is 2.5 miles an hour. Considering the average person can walk 1 mile every 15 minutes this should be doable with time to spare. Some side comments. 1. No attempt to get money. Sure it might lose value soon, but for the time being it still held value. 2. No attempt to contact friends or family. Just odd. 3. If you stop at a friend's place before things go to hell, your friend is going to suggest a drive into town and secure as much additional supplies as possible. (See point 1.) 4. I'm surprised no conceal carry or open carry. If you lose your gear to theft, you likely lose your life. 5. No change in clothes? Or washing of clothes? No protective clothing either. Long sleeves, neck protection, or sun glasses. 6. I'm surprised no jacket strapped to the outside of the pack for easy access. You need to be ready for change in climate. 7. Although there is nothing wrong with keeping a lighter on you for EDC, you know trouble is coming so save the fuel. Use a rod and striker. 8. No attempts to listen for communications. You should always have an emergency AM/FM radio in your bug out bag. 9. Although the primary route was likely known, show the use of a street atlas / map. Stressing secondary roads and avoiding population centers. 10. Water is your friend. Especially if you are out of shape. He should be drinking at least two gallons of water a day.

Sir, I have to say that this is one of my favorite bug out scenario videos. You did an outstanding job narrating and explaining the gear that you used. I sincerely hope that one day we could possibly get another scenario video of how life was after the "event" and show how your group was surviving at your location. Thank you for an entertaing and educational video.

Awesome video. For those who think they're just going to hop on a bicycle and pedal 70 miles, think again. A good electric bike will be a necessity and it better be capable of doing that 70 miles. If you don't have the money for one, you might want to buy a regular bike and start pedaling your butt around the block a few times.
