What bothers me is they say Eminem, Wayne, and all these other newer rappers are better 🤣🤣🤣…… I’m not saying they aren’t good but Big Daddy Kane is a lyricist!!
not a OG but gotta give props to one of the true GOD MC"S.......AND to any yungen......lets plz listen to the old school in order to make hip hop hip hop again
I learned how to speak English listening to HipHop and this was this first song I learned word by word in English 1989 when I first came to the US. BDK will forever be my favorite rapper.
The gold chains, the hair, the cloths, the style, the dancing, the lyrics... the entire way things were back then, oh man I wish I could have been around then
Now you talk about Swag this man was the epitome of Swag and still is the GOAT 🐐 Dapper Dan wearing , suede Bally wearing had the best hightop fade mad jewelry, mad ill lyrics and last but not least he had the illest dancers in the game Scoob and Scrap peace I'm done
Me and my son was just having a discussion about the rappers style and flow from back in my days vs his now. Anyway, I started rapping this song to him and now I'm here listening....cuz it sound so smoooth.
no autotune !! even though im a rocker at heart, i still appreciate all the rap/r&b/hiphop from the 80s and early 90s they were all artists back then, even when they sampled music fun times!
In 1990, 96.3 WHUR ( HOWARD UNIVERSITY RADIO) was playing this beautiful hip-hop classic heavy!! Beautiful times!! The legendary Antonio Hardy, aka BIG DADDY KANE my top 10 m.c.'s💯
A 🐐!! Without him there would be no JayZ! This man set the standard and the bar for rap. I love my era to me this is still where it is at. Biggie was just a teenager coming in to see Big Daddy Kanes live performances. Kane says, he was just BIg back then there was nothing notorious about him BUT a true GOAT respects his STUDENTS just as the student must respect the GOATS that have paved the way for them to express themselves.
They had no talent except the lead singer. The biggest male artist back then had a girls group. Prince had Va nity 6/Appolonia 6. Rick James had the Mary Jane Girls
He was one of my fav rappers. I had this cassette the day it came out in 89. I would check the record shop every tuesday for music I liked. I used to listen to this while I walked to school. Kane and Rakim were some of the first guys for me that took the rap style to next level. Before them it was alot of silly rhyming for the most part. Kane was a bit hardcore for most but not me. I was 12 and thought I was 20.
This song is surreal and it’s unlike any other rap song I’ve ever heard. There are some subtle hints of sampling here and there, and whoever produced the music on this one is a genius.
I'm 26 but my mom made sure when I had a music project in 6th grade I knew who big daddy Kane was 🤣🤣 and man after that I just really fell in love with hiphop
I watch the Big Daddy Kane Unsung the other day and he took rap to the next level. He also pave the way for rapper like Biggie, and Jay-Z. He brought swag to the rap game.
Great eyes. I have never caught the Chris Rock or Kwame in it before. I wonder how the heck Chris Rock ended up in this video? He wasn't really a thing yet. That's crazy.
Run DMC introduced me to rap music, but it was Kane that made me fall in love with it. This is the first rap song that I wrote down all the lyrics to. I just had to know all the words, so I could spit along, whenever it came on. I can still recite most of the song.
