Pause let's throw some symbols out. Kane, the 1st murder, the 1st man God said he would deal with on a very personal level. The first super hero, given a mark that meant he was in touchable and not able to be killed or harmed. Now Big Daddy said what to the Crowd smiling.
I respect Rakim very much but this flow was on another planet. The first time i heard this i said this is just too much. NOBODY at that time was flowing like this. Name the best rappers of this era and NONE were on this level. Real Talk
this is what hip hop is about .....fantastic breaks...heavy bassline...some creative drum machine....few special effects and proper execution lyrics and some scratchin....THIS IS HIP HOP YOUNGSTERS...the shit you listen to aint raw enough and a lot of it has missed the point ...this is streets talkin....not record companies...not hype....creativity coming from young souls ...HIP HOP MY FRIENDS...REAL HIP HOP.
Saw the man in 88 or 89 in Manchester, (bit hazy). Scooby lover and Scrappy lover rockin their hi-tops on stage, bustin killer moves with BDK. Long Live the kane!
Reminds me driving my White Acura Legend Coupe w/ BBS 3 piece down through 125th doing the drive by The Apollo Theatre..living life....Long live Big D Kane..
Forget Rap this is one of the best pieces of music any genre EVER . I couldn't believe the sound they came with when it came out , And still sounds just as good
So Hard that I still remember this being one of the first songs tuning in at 18, landing at Newark Airport early January 89, after a year living in Costa Rica with my moms. NY born and raised 🗽
@M N 100% man! It's a fucking disgrace these days. Smh I'm a 21 year old as well 😁😆 Probably the only 21 year old white guy who listens to old school shit haha Shame...
yo! i had this tape...this is REAL rap/ hip hop @ its rawest...not that pop shitt that these nu 'rappers' are bringin'...Kane is a pioneer and wicked lyricist....fuck all posers!
Shout out to RU-vid. I had this tape, now own the CD, but I never had access to the studio version.....The studio version is more tame that the live version that appeared on the album, but I can appreciate the lyrics more...even 32 years later.....
Great fucking song with some the best original icons scratching. Always had a great flow and made people wanna sing along. IMHO, BDK is one, if not the most, underrated and underknown artists of Hip Hops/Raps 80's creation
Kane is a poet…Kane is his flow that’s why nobody could eff with him. He was no fraud he IS his music. Smooth and confident and he could be because it was real life not made up not scripted not like these fake paper bag rappers of today…bust right through’em…👀
I don't know about BETTER, but they damn sure in the conversation for Da G.O.A.T. I don;t believe there is ANY MC in today's brand of rap music that could get with either one of them, NOW, let alone in their prime!! #TRUEM.C.'s
