A 257 Weatherby is thunder with any bullet it fires. To give a good comparison, think of a 110gr or 120 gr 257 Wby load as being a kissing cousin to a 7mm Rem mag using a 120 Gr bullet, the 7 Mag in that bullet range will give slightly more velocity. But that's the comparison. A true thunder-stick.
You have around a 21 yard shot after you add the distance of the angle. A2+B2=C2. So basically you actually doubled your shot distance by going up. I’m probably wrong but I never like math anyway
12 yards from the base of the tree, gotta add the 20’ up to get your yardage. Which is like 6.7 yards so basically 7. It’s actually around a 21 yard shot.
I had an angle finding range finder that does all of that for me. It was almost 40 steps straight line walking and little too her 40 from the tree stand.

@@downinthebottomswithmarcsm1520 nice, that’s a big game changer for me. I was wanting to load up some Berger 117 in one if I got it. I almost bought a 6.5-284 norma instead. The Berger load data says 1-8 twist barrel needed which I really don’t want to build one.
@@bartowpd342 I do not have any data on the or experience on the Berger so I don’t know how much longer it could be than the 120 NP but like I said the 120 Nosler is what killed that hog! Performed amazing.
