Eggs don't grow. They are as big as they need to be, unless they're elastic. I mean, I'm sure there's got to be a hard egg that grows, but for the most part I don't believe they do. I am NOT a biologist, of course. Like, I get bending reality for whimsy, but it's also good to have a grasp on what's actually real. Even if the egg could grow, it's unlikely it could go from small to big, but that's subjective, I guess. Muddying reality is how religons came to be. Fiction should remain fiction in your mind. Even if it's really interesting, like those choose your own adventure fantasy books from the 80s. I mean, when I was younger I would geniunely try hard to transform the world into a fantasy, not because I thought it would work, but I hoped it would. I thought I could make the egg grow, but the egg stayed the same and I grew a little sadder. When tighten your grip on reality you become less disappointed.
I love crap like this. Stuff that makes you feel like a kid again, watching stuff that raises so many questions about the space and entities and not being able to conclude it was just made to be weird.
HELL YES!!!! Oh man I'm glad you got inspired by COMPU MOVIE!! It's archival and finally seeing it was a big highlight of my week and now to see artists like you taking inspiration makes me beyond happy!!! Fabulous work
I didn't know what to expect from a Louie Zong piece titled "BIG EGG". This wasn't what I expected. But it did leave me cracking up uncontrollably at midnight.
when i grow up, i want to be BIG EGG this is an amazing tune and animation, louie! i recognized a good bit of kid pix in there - super impressed with what you managed to pull off using limited tools
I love this so much. Reminds me of that sequence from Elroy’s Toy - I can’t remember the name of the animator or composer but it had such a melancholy undercurrent (with eggs, robot doll creatures, fractals, crowds) love it
