They didn't have much success in US in 70s & after, beats me why, they seem right but Disco ruled & they had great success elsewhere. Yanks are fickle.
@@brucemacmillan9581 Well that's strange. You have viewed a clip of a band you dislike, then post a negative comment on this band you dislike. Surely most normal people would simply ignore anything they do not like. Obviously not you. Bizarre behaviour.
@@chrisnott6146 I see too many people fawning over mediocre music drivel, whether it's from this or some other era. There were some good bands from this era. This wasn't one of them. Learn the difference.
Amazing the clips that have been hidden away for so many decades. This is the stuff that Quo Army was built on. And it’s a live recording. These guys were all gold. I’ll be able to still watch this when I’m in a nursing home and beyond. YES !!
This is fantastic to see the real Quo in live action. Its easy to be critical of the performance in the cold light of day 50 years later, but to be there and see them perform live would be mind blowing. i saw them do this when they toured Australia in the 70's and they were the best going around. its a hard song to sing. Rick blew himself till he was red in the face. all the little musical Quo nuances are on show. this is one of my most favourite Quo songs from my most favourite Quo album.
There was never a more exciting sight than watching the late great Rick Parfitt pounding out _Big Fat Mama_ late in the show and there never will be again.
Incredible live band, their timing, and delivery are awesome And what about Rossi, 's guitar solo at the end. Why are these guys not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame??
Probably failing to break into the North American scene I mean I do agree that there's a lot of bands that probably should be in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame that aren't
@@SharksSeanOSullivanSharkey He either had to much cocaine that day or was still leaning that bit lol, he did eventually make a great job of that bit of lead guitat.
Oh shit! This status quo are what i always remembered and has in my mind. I'm happy this come true again. Cant stop watching it. I hope there are coming more.
Thank you for posting. One of my favourite Quo tunes. I have been listening to them for over 50 years now and this is just as I remember seeing them in the early days. Raw, unpolished, loud and utterly brilliant. If you could bottle the atmosphere they created at gigs back then you would be a very rich man indeed. Over the years many have knocked them but few have ever emulated them and the spirit of rock and roll they created. Wow wow wow!!!
that;s status quo which i loved i use to play there music every day when i came home from school, still do, but only with the original line up, what the hell were they thinking about in 1986 when they had that bass guitarist, and drummer, it ruined for me, all what they did before,
Fantastic! Superbly illustrates the raw power and energy the frantic four had back then. Rick’s voice sounds raw, like he’s been doing way too much rawping (to use a quaint Yorkshire expression)…
Belle vidéo qui rend vraiment compte de ce qu'étaient les Quo à l'époque. Je me trouve subitement propulsé dans les années 70, lorsqu'adolescent je les écoutais en boucle.
So good. I grew up with them.. and Later I met Rick and Francis in person - twice..., in New York concerts... But I wish that I was there in 70's. That's it.
Thank you big time, THE MIDNIGHT SPECIAL for uploading this really fantastic live performance! It's a beautiful historical recording with at timestamp 2:54, the mindblowing part when Rick is singing the very well known lyrics: "I got a bigfat Mama With a big fat boy Really thinks she's something else" and: "I said say you need me Come on and say you need me" His voice... so raw and flawless. That's really down to earth rock and roll. The very first time I was confronted with this magnificent way of making music, I was a kid of barely 14 years old. Now I'm 62 years of age and nothing has changed about the huge impression that started at the age of fourteen. Once again many, many thanks for this video with perfect quality of picture and sound !! Rick never played or sang rock and roll... He WAS rock and roll !! With lots of compliments, respect and rock 'n' roll, richard from The Netherlands (Holland) 🎸🎸🎸
Great feel and groove! Always liked his crashy ride sound, fitted perfect in the music. On the frantic four reunion his playing was feeling a little bit stiff unfortunately.
@@themidnightspecialtvshow 24 hours after you've taken the time to upload this footage an unofficial Status Quo RU-vid channel has re-uploaded it, claiming they've "enhanced" the picture. I'm not telling you your business but it needs to be flagged because it's your copyright property.
Wow! Unbelievable this footage! We had to wait for so long… After all those years I have no hair left Great energy and a lot of mistakes 03:03 Rick plays a wrong chord and again on 03:13 and Francis wrong note on 03:57 Alan and John playing great! Rick's voice.... What a GREAT band it was! Love Hugs and Kisses
Proper Quo. Reminds me of when I bought Quo Live back when I was a kid, What a brilliant live album that is. Live at Glasgow Apollo , the album still sounds great today. One of best live albums ever for me. Great days . 👍👍
Big fat Mama until today one of my favorite Quo songs. Also because I love the voice of Rick so much. Like Rain and Mystery song and so much more. And the original Quo line up is to say it with the speaker of the legendary "LIVE in Glasgow" from 1976: " The greatest Rock n Roll Band in the World!" The Reunion in 2013 was a present and Rick and Alan are forever in my Heart.
C'est sur qu'a cette époque , c'était 100 fois mieux que maintenant ! Mais hélas on ne peut pas faire revenir les morts ! Et dans ce cas , c'est bien dommage .....
