This is an experiment I played with some years ago, trying to learn the detail of just how Jelly Roll Morton's band worked. It is often said that Morton's own piano style evoked an entire band, so this is me trying to tease out polyphonic lines from his own piano solo of this work to make it appear as thought they originated from a band - reverse engineering of a sort. This is all notated note-for-note and no improv is going on in this performance strictly (apart maybe some of the piano, banjo and drum vamping).
Unfortunately, in this take - the best in spirit that we took - a couple of phrases from the trumpet got lost! Ah well.....
