there should be a weight limit also half these riders look like they are driving through the hood in thier car leaning way back drinking a beer or whatever, maybe one or two horses looked relaxed and enjoying the ride
Saw just about three riders that weren't hurting their horses mouths. People it's wonderful that you are having a good time. Times are hard and we need this, but please believe me when I say there is a better way to ride horses. You need to train obedience. When you do that, you don't have to hurt them to "control" them. Even the training is done without hurting them. Use equine psychology. Educate yourself on how they learn and reverse psychology. In my country it is normal to ALWAYS be taking riding lessons when you own a horse, even when you are world champion!! #ankyvangrunsven (and I am not even a dressage rider, just making a point) and yes; many of these horses are in pain. As a horse owner, you are at least expected to be able to recognise their body language/facial expressions. And ps: learning horsemanship skills are amazing and empowering. You will love it!!
@Itsthehorsegirl Going on the defensive comments from the uploader i have to disagree. One thing about learning is taking a hint when people are putting forward valid comments. These styles of riding are dying out. Just needs some brain retraining and retraining the horses. Bits are harsh. The lean back riding style must be murder on both the rider and horses kidneys. The breed always looks underweight. But the one thing i can say is the base of the riding and getting out is way better. Compared to that shit show clown show of the Big lick. Jeezus what a horror story that is.

I feel so bad for these horse’s mouths the reins are so tight and they have very strong bits on you can tell how stressed they are and a lot of these riders are way to big to ride horses
Props to 1:07 Mr Ben(?) IMHO one of only reasonable riders in this entire video. There are a few more decent riders that I’m noticing as the video progresses but for the most part I’m seeing So many hard hands and sloppy leaning back on kidneys…your horses aren’t going to last , and while they’re here, they’re going to be miserable. That being said, I LOVE the trail ride culture- wish I could join a group like this (but NOT on asphalt, so dangerously slippery and hard on horse’s delicate legs)
Plenty to complain about but i also see plenty to be happy about. One being the community side of things. Bringing people together. Lady that lost the shoe. Get onto boots. Local lady that does endurance has had a pair for 7yrs. She rides out the flinders rangers every day for 3 hours. Easy to put a replacement on.
Yeah I noticed that too. Whoever Trained them train them to go wide open. Most likely as buggy horses. There are a lot of really pretty horses here but I can’t stand ride gages horse. I can’t get used to it I’ve tried.

Good to see a good time but check your heavy hands, brutal bits, riding on kidneys, WAY to heavy riders & the long distance on pavement. These lovely horses will break down WAY to early.
Some of these guys are way too heavy for their poor horses, it’s painful to watch how tight the reins are how sad these beautiful creatures are not respected.

How long did these horses "run the pavement" full throttle with no "rest-stop', no water, no down time from the constant hauling on their mouths with over shanked bits? Oh and while I'm at it, how about putting some groceries in front of quite a few of those underweight animals?
Some of these people need to learn how to ride. They’re tugging on their mouths, and leaning that far back in the saddle can hurt their backs. That’s why sitting upright and centered is called being balanced. I understand some of them are gaited, but it’s not and excuse for doing what you do.

The horses looks good, but the riders look like they sit at home in their sofas, drinking beer and using mobilephones, no helmets, pulling the horses mouth and some riders are giving the horses sore backs by sitting way to far back and being to fat to ride a horse..😢
A lot of beautiful horses and looks like a great riding community. Why are all these horses so over bitted? What is it about this breed that people use blinders and over do so much with them? The Tennessee Walkers I’ve met were calm and quiet mounts.

I would love to report animal abuse on some of these riders. And before you make a comment check the weight of how much a horse can carry for it's size and weight. Iam a vet and horse trainer. Shame on some of you.
@@GALLEN-vf7uyA rider and tack put together shouldn't be more than 20% of the horses weight. A lot of those people without the tack are too heavy for the horse.

I can't believe these people. Cant ride a lawn mower let alone a horse. Most of the riders are grossly overweight. Are these animals hire stock? If so they need to have a look at who hires the horses. I think the authorities need to be bought to their notice. I havnt seen too many experienced riders tbere.

Don't like reading responses the negative along with the "few" good ones, don't post your videos. Better yet, teach the trail riding members on how to ride to where at least their horses are as comfortable as their "riders".
Hardly anybody knew how to properly sit a Walking Horse , in addition reins too tight (hard hands) and a few with a body score of 1 or 2 . Feed your horses. And if you weigh 300 lbs you don't belong on a Walker's back. Try a draft horse instead.
