As I said before, Gipp is in his "not GAF" bag with these interviews. He's one of the few OGs that is not big upping this culture and hoping for a feature. He's giving it straight no chaser
Definitely got those big unc vibes. I like when he makes a point he says, you see? Reminds me of Dick Gregory droppin gems on em. He's definitely part of that Southern Legion amongst THE GETO BOYS, BALL & G, UGK, etc. 🐐👑💪🏾💯
The same way he said people stroke on Jay z dick wether we agree or not is the same way he stroke on pac dick... right or wrong???? The nigga said if pac was living he would have had Beyonce..... WTF???? You supposed to say I could have got Beyonce....but he said pac could have fucked your bitch...now if that ain't stroking a man's dick literally then I don't know what it is. And I fuck with gip but it seems he bitter cause Jay-Z always fuckin Cee lo....you can clearly see that what it is . especially when he always saying they take one out the group. Which is celo ..gipo is bitter as hell
@@reginaldwilliams6241 he feels like they are stroking Jay-Z's dick and it's not valid. Tupac was a total threat if you're old enough to know you know. He was Drake on steroids. But if you compare Lil Wayne to Jay Z or even Baby(cash money) for that matter. They have had the longest successful run in the game and still killing it with with Drake and Nicki. So do you see the bias now? Yeah Jay made a few great business deals. But he's definitely not the hottest in the game and hasn't been in a while. But to be fair with you. Gipp says a lot about the content of the rap game being watered down right now. But the rap game is literally being steered by ATL. And we all know most of them claim not to be rappers but trappers and steppers and he still gives them props because they are from his City.🤔
@@aliaswizard6963 I don't keep your point ...my point is the same way they stroking Jay z which I don't like is the same way gip is stroking pac...how don't. You see it that ...mim not asking you who you like better...I'm simply saying gip is doing the same thing to pac that he accusing other of doing to Jay z....I don't see how you missed that....even the way he brought up pac would have had Beyonce if he was alive...what did that have to do with the conversation.....you don't see that as dick stroking??????? We both over 40...that's straight dick stroking ....I gurantee if someone said Jay z would have took Jada from pac y'all would have a heart attack...y'all would say they stroking Jay z . I was wit gip until he said that. That's dick stroking at. It's finest
Right but. Biggie & UGK did meet in Atlanta and smoke together… And Scarface gave 2pac a copy of Ridin Dirty & 2pac said via Scarface “They gone be down with us” he died 2 weeks after. Pac loved “One Day” by UGK
Imma keep it 100.... the summer of 1995 on the east coast the only shit that was getting play in them cars with systems was Raekwon OB4CL, Mobb Deep The Infamous, the first Outkast, and Goodie Mob Soul food. Those was the albums to test if your system really knocked like that.
I was in Philly for a while (late 90s). I tripped off how some of them was feeling goodie/hot Boyz etc. I remember in the club that was my first time hearing GFK "Cher chez la ghost" (I know I Fkd that name up probably lol) It Fkd me up too when I was in Philly they had like some ol skool blues club/bar peace from Louisiana
@@marvin469 good dope is sold and heard from everywhere. Plus in the 90s no one sounded alike. They couldn't play that C Murder Ride 4 my niggaz nowhere... That and TRU Hoodie Hoo was club bangers to us
@@mauriceriddick4168 I actually did security at clubs in Baton Rouge when that song dropped. The DJ used to play it as one of the last songs of the night.
@@mauriceriddick4168 no doubt bruh. I'm originally from Louisiana & we came up on whodini/Rakim /PE /LL (the golden era) But to see us getting that love back was crazy. I felt like we had some cold mfs that just couldn't be denied lol
Soul Food & Cell Therapy are 2 of the dopest, realist songs ever made…big up to the Goodie Mob, OutKast and the whole Dungeon Family…you guys literally changed hip hip and allowed artist from all over the world to tell their story on their terms and with their style…I’m from the northeast and I can honestly say that you guys along with Wu Tang literally saved “Hip Hop” because it starting to lose its creativity and diversity until you guys came along…Thanks my brother!
NY is the problem with hip hop today lol. They had it on lock and didn’t govern it the way it should have been which has ultimately led to what it has become...
@@traj_mahal300 Y'all still trying to blame "the rappers" who held no power smh. The rappers were never the problem, just like the people in the hood aren't the problem. The SYSTEM is the problem but no one wants to go against it, so we'd rather point fingers at one another...
Ayo yo Gipp all that shit sound cool. Next time your mortgage is overdue or your little one gotta go to the doctor tell them “ money is some people god”. 😂
Soul food helped me through a lot! Still till this day! And I love gipp for telling the truth. These A&Rs telling these kids what to rap about, what's "hot", that's why everything sounds the same smh
I'm from NY, and when gipp said what he said about hov I didn't see it as up north hate...and this furthermore proves it btw he went out his way to add BIG 💯
Lol pimp c they would try to cancel his ass, the brother was too real lol. That soul food album I put it in my top 10 best albums of all time. When I heard cell therapy in Brooklyn I was telling dudes to watch out because nobody from the south was coming with conscious gangster raw hip hop beats. It wasn’t booty music that most people thought the south was about. And cee lo voice and barz , mannn I was hooked dungeon family all day!
In regards to the names mentioned, Organized Noize had a close relationship with Pimp, Big and Pac. Bad Boy was in the ATL kicking it with them in the beginning, Pimp and Gipp were close plus they were even going to do music together as well as Pac with the Goodie. I wasn't there but we had Teen Summit on Saturday morning and Rap City throughout the week that was our access to different regions, before social media being from the south, and some of us can recall the interviews because it was all new. It may sound like fairy tales but I vividly remember.
I gotta album called black lives matter that I made in Atlanta and it doesn't get any play.. and it's not about money. It's about life. Y'all just AINT LOOKING.
I think when he said the higher ups in New York he was talking about the music execs not the rappers. New York rappers were the 1st conscious rappers of notoriety
@@ya_pal_big_al9184 Atlanta has just as much of execs but he never accuses his hometown about doing the same shit. Thats y i cant get with gipp bias. He hates on NY every interview
@cazo? that's semantics homie. Those home offices are in New York so the orders trickle down to satellite offices. & his bias is his bias. Lots of artists regardless of region have bias. NY artists have bias because the south(Atlanta especially) has been topping the charts for 20+ yrs. But use southern constructs in their music🤷🏾♂️ But he also shows some NY artists love too
@@ya_pal_big_al9184 How the hell is NY biased but use Southern constructs?? Sounds to me like NY artists respect artists outside of NY and adapt to what they're doin (the younger/internet generation)... It's no different then the way The West and The South tapped into what NY was doin back in the early 70s and 80s, they adapted to what we were doing and added their twist to it...
Mane...I'm in Atlanta now still waiting two jobs still living on streets...man,I was sleep woke up laughing...I'm still trynna figure out which two b of y'all came up with the"Royal Fool"dance nomo skit...I bet it was "Gipp and TMoe"🤣🤣🤣😅😅
But Gipp most of those type songs are from the South. I respect Outkast, Geto Boys and Goodie Mob but in reality, most of these Southern cats inspired by Future and Gucci Mane are just downright stupid in their lyrics.
Sneak dissing Jay-Z yet again in this interview also, although everything he's said recently seems honest/sincere and from a place of integrity. The OG solid and authentic, the man has my respect ✊️
You got more than dope boy rap out there! The A got some spitters out there JID Grip ans and earthgang! West Coast got Symba LA Russell and Ray Vaughn! I listen to dope shit! It still some good rap out there with subject matter! I left some people too many too name! You gotta find that shit!
Hov didn’t do it organically, he’s the first rapper that began to watch for the coming wave and hop on it early. (huge influence on Drake) That’s why he jumped on Ruff Ryders, a bunch of different southern rappers, rode Kanye wave for so long, snatched Chris flow for a minute, even toured with 50 and Ja was his boy...
@@dawb86 lmfaooooooo nigga stfu.. if jay do it now it wasnt organic but when another rapper work with a south artist its organic. Yall fans say the dumbest shit 😂😂😂😂. And 50 was on rocafella’s tour opening up so lets get that str8. Yall wanna hate on hov so bad yall just make up anything to discredit
THAT!! Is the blood of an Israelite speaking!!! Preach GIPP! I SALUTE this man... and Cell Therapy and Thought process spoke to me at a time where my peoples couldn't hear the message yet. Oakland California tappin in!!✔️💯💪🏾🪶🏹
This is interview right here explains why the Goodie was my favorite group out the gate. Soul Food might have saved my life too when I needed direction the most as a youth
@@terrancerobinson20 TUPAC DID MORE IN 5 YEARS THAN WHAT 90% OF ENTAINERS TODAY ACCOMPLISH!! MUSIC AND MOVIES. 5 GOLD AND PLATINUM ALBUMS. 6 MOVIES, 4 OF THEM WERE BOX OFFICE HITS!!
@Lamont most of Pac's movies were b list and most didn't make it to theaters. The only 2 that were big were Juice and Poetic Justice, and that's only "big" within the hood community
@@abc876 ACTUALLY ALL HIS MOVIES WERE HOOD HITS. BUT POETIC JUSTICE, JUICE, AND ABOVE THE RIM WERE BOX OFFICE HITS!! NOTHING BUT TROUBLE IS CULT CLASSIC!!😎✌🏿
Big Gipp is for the people.Remember when Big Gipp was mad at people throwing trash on the street. I like him speaking up. Goodie Mobb is one of the greatest groups ever.
If there is or was torch to be passed in hip hop...GIPP BLEW IT OUT...PUT A NEW WICK IN IT...AND LIT IT THE RIGHT WAY! It's AMAZING how timing is everything! No one has told this TRUTH since Pimp C and Pac!!!! God Bless You Gipp🙏🏽
Still rollin' with a CD player... Soul Food CD gets play on the regular to this day. Music that uplifts your spirit will always be that...the truth is timeless.
It's easy to do these interviews without somebody from NY to fact check and challenge these statements.. I would love to see a debate between a big dog from The South and/or The West and a big dog from NY...
@@870bigbub3 I see you from the natural state. I agree he a clown but that doesn't mean he's not telling the truth. Alot of these rappers, entertainers, & athletes 🤡. He exposing them for they 💩🐂.
I wonder how he feels about all the trap rappers with the "money phone", these rappers who pop pills on live, overdosing... Would Pimp call out these niggaz who wear purses and nail polish??? I don't think "these people tellin these rappers what to rap about", if they ain't rappin about shootin, killin, destroying their communities, poppin pills, sippin lean, ridin n slidin, etc etc, you ain't gettin signed... Would Gipp have this same energy on a NY platform??? I doubt it...
Shittttt all that righteous shit sound cool…next time you have to pay your bills tell your bill collector all the shit this fool just said in this interview
@@stacksondeck515 that’s not the point lol ofc we all need money but it’s some people out here who don’t care about nothing but money. Niggas like that you gotta stay away from and then the ones Gipp talking about
Cash Money, Baby, entire focus was about money. Gipp is contradictory, he preaches about how the south is different & "they ain't us". Why is he so salty about elevation of others?
GIPP talking some Real Talk..💯💯🎯🎯..Goodie Mob and even Outkast use to talk about things of substance..Alot of cats outside of Kendrick, J.Cole and Krit they not talking about nothing bruh..
