@@johnnyhinton3138 Thank you That's one of those "I dont know" moments from Gipp. It's easy to say this when you are Gipp but not to the people still in the system that goes out of its way to oppress black people
I’m from DC, but that’s why we always fucked w/ the south so tough. They always showed love to every region. They never hated on nobody. Always respected the game, but they always demanded their respect, too. So much classic shit came up out the South, man. Much love from DC.
Gip is a good rapper, but I feel like he’s an even better man. Every time I listen to his interviews, I gain a little bit of perspective on life matters.
I'm from New Orleans but I Love Atlanta a whole lot who woulda knew Soulja Slim and Big Gipp ran together and Gipp loved Slim so many people Loved Slim losing him was a BIG lost not just for New Orleans but the whole game in particular
I’m from Atlanta…I have always loved and respected the city and culture of New Orleans…more than any other city in America. We rocked that Soulja Slim hard in the city…Shawty went too hard!💪🏿
You cannot let Gipp's southern droll fool you. He is super insightful and intelligent. He is 100% correct on all these interviews. The world sis get ro see how it felt to be black...AND THEY DIDNT LIKE IT AT ALL...😅😅🤣🤣🤣
I'm say Memphis is the most disrespected city in the rap game we brought so much to the culture and we get no just due and the true southern rap fan's know this
Great interview. Always liked goodie mob since their first album release when i was a youngin in HS. We rocked that shit heavy here in NY in the 90s. THAT was the "dirty south" sound I miss. Gritty shit. Shout out from BKNY
Gipp just said a mouthful…….I just got off Zoom teaching an hour ago……We were studying the Arctic and my students made the comment….”We should look and see if there’s footage of the titanic sinking on RU-vid.” I laughed it off not thinking she was serious…..Next thing I know, she’s upset that she couldn’t find any footage. To cap it off…..She just couldn’t believe there was a time BEFORE the internet/accessibility………Definitely a different vibe now a days for sure……..
WE ARE NOTHING WITHOUT OUR ELDERS! Im going to say it again…. WE ARE NOTHING WITHOUT OUR ELDERS. “ELDER” is far more than a word or classification. We never had a “SYSTEM” that work for us and in our benefit here in America. OUR SYSTEM/CULTURE has always started with OUR ELDERS and will END as our youth and ADULTS, more and more! , cares nothing about how we began and operate systematically where they begin each step from a place of defeat. What the “Elder” means to US is dying and dying FAST
I was blessed to klick wit Slim as well, and yeah he was bout dat life as anyone who knew him can tell you, but I guarantee u dey all can also tell u, my boi was funny asf, slim have mf laughing all day but be serious asf da whole time 🤣 R.I.P Big Dog.
🤔💥This gentleman is not lying, my niece were out on a double date dinner, and had a flat tire, both young men did not know how to change a flat tire. 😖💥😮💨
If they don’t need a license to carry guns then I don’t either. I live in Texas not Georgia but it’s the same here. I already had a license but I look at it as a blessing for those of us who didn’t. Handle your business.
Man, Gipp wasn't kidding when he was saying covid didn't really hit as hard in the country as it did in the city. I had a heroin problem & in January 2020, I checked myself into a recovery center that was located way out in the woods. I was there the whole year of 2020 & while the rest of the world was panicking, we carried on like nothing was happening. We had well water, pigs & chickens, we didn't do any social distancing or any of that shit, & nobody caught covid at all. When I talked to my family members on the phone, they were going nuts all locked down & everything & where I was at we were chilli'n & just enjoying life. Much love to Gipp & the rest of the Goodie Mob, I been a fan since I first heard em on Git up Git out in 94 & I'm still a fan to this day.
Cool Herc did NOT create Hip Hop!!!!!!!!!!!! Southern Hip Hop elders need to educate themselves. Clyde Stubblefield the Funky Drummer Southern Funk Soul and Jazz. B Boys created Hip Hop to Break dance to. Dj Disco King Mario from North Carolina DJ Pete Jones from North Carolina!!!!!. Herc watched what they Descendants of American Black Enslaved People we're doing and copied it. Stop the lies!!!!!!
I hear you. Kool Herc was an understudy to Mario and copied his style, dress , etc. Kool Herc is credited for extending the break beat in records. That’s it. The old heads that were there are still around
@@harrypool71 DJ Pete Jones from North Carolina did that first . Herc is immigrant that copied those who are descendants of Enslaved Black Americans. The lies stop now. All Jamaican music is based on New Orleans Jazz and R &B
