Big Krit recalls the pressure he felt after Kendrick dropped control and how he knew he needed to respond to the situation. He also discusses creating Glass House with Wiz Khalifa and Currency.
Mt Olympus is phenomenal!! The perfect response to Control...and Krit was the only one who knew Kendrick wasn't dissing him, just bringing out the competitive side of rappers #salute
@@isaiahgarcia163 you sound like hater. At no point was he calling KRIT a messiah. Quite a few rappers got butthurt over that control verse besides Drake and Sean. Nah, ket me take that back... you just corny 😂😂😂
Jr 07 which is a mixtape. Just like untitled unmastered was a mixtape, not an album. That’s why when people talk about Kendricks debut they mention gkmc not section 80
100% agreed. Do you know what the original sample was? I’ve never figured it out minus the gladiator “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED” and the obvious three six mafia classic stab lol. I thought he pitched down one of the OST songs but I was wrong. Anyway, always wanted to know. All ❤️ from MPLS✊
If you know Hip Hop, you know this man has been killin the game for nearly a decade now. Crazy he does not get the recognition he deserves. Big Up to KRIT. GRIT WAZ HERE is straight up fire.
Safe to say Mt. Olympus was one of the greatest "intentionally prolific" songs of all time. Not lame at all either it was so certain and just everything... Love the south
I was a fan of KRIT, J. Cole, and Kendrick before either of them blew up. That “hungry” music be the best shit that artists produce! That being said, KRIT’s mixtapes are better than his album-same with Cole! I always wanted KRIT to be successful, but I hate it when artists like him blow up, because the music changes. Not saying the quality diminished, but his music just isn’t as moving now as it was before. I’m the type of fan that refuses to let niggas think they can slack after fame! A lack of accountability and integrity is a big part of why EVERYTHING in the world is the way it is! Think about that... 🤔
PREACH! I also think Krit’s mixtapes are better because of the sample based beats he produces on them. He can’t clear em for the albums so they don’t feel as soulful imo.
King Krizzle 👑 I love this black man soul and mentality🙏💜🙏. #Power they know he’s a beast they can’t control that’s why mainstream try to hold him down. K.R.I.T. is an artist!!!!! He is very Prince like with his craft maintainability of control and He does it all. With Knowledge and talent like that let the music talk no need to go back and forward with these rappers!!!!! ✊🏽🙏💜
YO!!! K.R.I.T.!!! DAT HOMIE!!! ✊✊✊ I JUST TOUCHED DOWN!!! BUFFALO!!! IS WHAT THIS IS!!! SHORTIE? GOING PLACES YO!!! UNDERNEATH THE CLOUDS AND THE SUN!!! REMIX!!! 😁😁😁
Big Krizzle... Most def the most underrated/ unappreciated artist in my opinion !!! Been fw my boy for a long time. Music touches my soul G. We like the same person lol
I don't know what it was about that some super dope artist hit the scene hard and really blew up at around 2010-2011. Big K.R.I.T, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Wale, Dom Kennedy, and Big Sean dropped some serious business in that time frame and the best part about it was all the aforementioned artist above could sound vastly different and still find an audience. Big K.R.I.T and Wale to some degree a savagely underrated though.
People all of a sudden coming at Krit when Kendrick has said on tons of interview since 2011 that he was a huge Krit fan before he even got big. People don't even realize they think Kendrick dissed one of his biggest insiprations. Cole and Kendrick both started rapping about the dichotomy of trying to stay grounded while being famous after around 2012. That has been Krit's entire focus for most of his discography... where do people think they got their inspiration from? Without Krit we don't get Forest Hills Drive or Good Kid Mad City.
Better this way is a great song that he does. I honestly didnt think he would get alot of support within "the culture" but im glad he is and maybe that means some good changes for "the culture"
Mt. Olympus put this bro in the "PROfessional", "Top-Tier" Rapper category for me. If you can make a track like that, not only that, but bro did the beat, the hook, the production, the lyrics.. Only thing bro didn't do himself was Film it.. He had Cameras for that. Then you definitely "made-it", in my eyes as a Rapper. (I listen to that track like every morning to get ready for work)
Hands down. I am familiar with all of tha greats homes but I have to admit DESPITE my respect towards Cole, Kendrick, Drizzy - Krit and Gibbs are the goats of this gen. Period.
See Krit came and talked to B High and was interviewed by a man’s who’s a fan with the upmost respect. When he went to The Breakfast Club the first time they were so disrespectful with the clown shit!
I feel like the breakfast club had respect for krit but not for the south and his partners. They kept talking down on it and the people krit came up with but never really on him. But at the same time talking down on his partners his still disrespecting krit indirectly so i agree. They changed up real quick the next time he came though
