Big Life Update: Travels To India, Pakistan And More! 

I am from India. I have no one living in U.K. and have no chances of visiting U.K too. Still I was telling my mom that if I ever get a chance to visit U.K., I will definitely meet Amma, no matter how long I'll need to travel for it. It was a distant dream however. But after hearing your plans to visit India, my happiness knows no bounds. I will meet my Amma. I will meet her at Delhi's international airport where you will land. I will hug my Amma tightly and will cherish those moments for the rest of my life.

Really want to see Amma in India.. My ancestors homeland. 💕 long live India..🇮🇳 Long live Pakistan 🇵🇰

My grandmother is originally from Lahore and shifted to Hoshiarpur after partition. So many similarities between Amma and my dadi 😊just the way they talk! Sending love to her💕

I’m from Phagwara, Punjab, India. Your grandfather’s Pind is so close my town and even Amma’s Pind is not that far from Phagwara. I think that’s why I feel so connected to Amma. The way she speaks Punjabi is exactly how I speak. I wish she get a chance to visit her birthplace and I would love to meet her if I can go to India at the same time.

My dada and nana, nani are migrated from Jalandhar India, they used to tell us different stories how they migrated although they are not that much aware what exactly happened bcz they were so small but they tell us they remember things like a dream

In case you eventually decide your dear grandmother is not up to it physically, you could put out a RU-vid detailing her family name and address, ditto for your grandfather. If people do reply, they could show you around the houses online, and maybe you could set up a chat with them? Best to coddle her as much as you can, travel can be really tiring, including airport procedures etc.

Just a heads up! The Indian visa application will ask you if your Grandparents and Parents were born in Pakistan. Once I put 'yes' 😂for my Grandparents because my Grandma was born in Lahore and my Grandad Rawalpindi (obviously pre-partition and stupidly didn't realise it was called British India back then lol) and my visa was rejected straight away but I applied again and said 'No' and it was accepted.
