It has been a few years since Justin started taking down trees to create more pasture. Now its difficult to know where the forest was. I remember when they only had 2 cows. I can't even count them all lol. The sad part is this way of living is not the norm. I am happy to see so many families sharing their journey and showing more people how it can be accomplished. I live in Central America. Here in the rural area, farming is the majority of families normal.
I know the cousins will remember the good times working with there cousins doing hard labor! They might not appreciate now but on down there road those were the best years! You and Becca are doing great with your family! We all have good and bad days but I know there is a lot of L O V E in your family! Love this family!🧚🏻🧚🏻🧚🏻❤️
Justin, you can't just shove the cable into the cable end. Loosen those bolts on it then you can put the cable in and tighten it up. You're not getting a good ground otherwise.
That pen was built by Ben Holler from the Holler homestead and what a good job he did and a very practical pen to have for the sheep. A good piece of equipment to have. The cousins will miss each other. Was wondering were they from Rebecca's side or Justin's? Have a lovely day.
Shalom, be careful trying to do something that doesn’t come naturally. I’ve raised sheep for a long time and never heard of vinegar being a method of more fertile eggs.lol your sheep will naturally have the amount of babies that there bodies can handle, the goal I think should be healthy sheep and healthy babies.
You should consider a stand and plant transplanter. It is a game changer with the 72 cell windstrip tray. You can plant much faster, no bending over, you just have to have 2 people.
Here's an idea - open a day camp and teach the campers all these skills just like the cousins do and then one day they will buy your books! or is that too delayed gratification? But you can still charge their parents for the "day care"! Swimming, off-roading, soccer and horses for fun! You're in charge of fun!!
an Australian cattle dog would herd those sheep for you and also i noticed your not growing alot of plants with Anthocyanins its been correlated to increase life span by switching on sirtuins. some good options are blue berries and even things like purple Congo potatoes and purple broccoli and cauliflower. You could grow a ton of black/purple chili and dry and powder it that would work also. keep the videos coming your so blessed to have so many farmhands
I don't know that there'd be enough work for a cattle dog or kelpie. Maybe a border collie. But they'd have to get one pretrained & justin would need training too.
Yes it was a good day. TRACTOR : Looks like you either need a replacement cable that's long enough to reach the battery hook up ....OR... another section of same size cable that you twist together ( think braiding the end you have to another piece with some shrink cover slid on first. Then once we'll braided together slide the shrink wrap wire cover over the full braided area and shrink in place. Then you would have the length needed to get to the battery connection better. It also LOOKS LIKE you may need a new larger "cable lock" to the battery post.
Beetles ( We Fed Japanese Beetles to our Chickens for $30. White house on the hill. You should check out this video. It would save the garden and feed the chickens.
He didn't Iike the idea of them to begin with, which seems odd since he raises for meat and they're incredibly efficient. So he let it spiral and made it out to be her fault.
Sheep are way more frantic than goats. Goats are lovely animals but you are so negative about them. I have goats and I would way rather them over sheep. If you don’t have space for cows they are an excellent producer of milk and their milk “ which taste just as good cow milk” is much easier for people to digest. I live on 3/4 of an acre and cannot afford much more, my Nigerian dwarf goats supply me with more than enough milk to drink, make cheese and soap. If I had children at home I would maybe need more than two in milk at a time but they produce enough for myself and my husband. Don’t disregard goats they have a place on the homestead especially where people don’t have suck large properties. You can homestead in small areas and goats defiantly fit into spaces. They are funny, gentle, easy to handle and follow routine like crazy. They can be mischievous and stubborn but they can also be obedient, they escape way less than these cows escape and do not venture far from their home. This is my experience so don’t disregard goats.
Maybe he's being respectful in NOT backbiting others, such as hollers or sow the land. We DONT KNOW WHAT happened. AND I don't think it's our business. You might be surprised who your siding with. I'd leave those question alone unless the youtubers, including Hollars, etc choose to explain.😊
It's absolutely nobody's business who the Rhodes invite to their home. Recently Justin and Rebekah entertained a whole new circle of friends and neighbors to expand their homestead community.
Why in the heck don’t you buy a tractor instead of spending so much on other things the tractor will be in the family for a lifetime and will help you so much
I laugh every time you call goats devil eyes...as a keeper of goats, I find them to be more like dogs than livestock...but the definately have a little devil in them from time to time
