I think this was the best decision, would love to see the 6.0 as a drag truck. The cummins will be so much easier to deal with not to mention the manual should make things easier. Also would be great to see you go to rocky mountain race week with Uncle Chet as a co driver possibly 🤣. Idk if you could get him to ride in a beater or get his hands dirty though lol.

You should build something Detroit powered for a burnout rig. You obviously have to stay diesel, and you need one that can sing for minutes on end without getting hurt….what better than a two stroke roots blown setup

Slow heating glowplugs and force them to heat when starting. That should help old diesels to start up.Without timer fast ones you will pop up, that is an guarantee

Anybody who condemned an engine with a relative compression should just put their tools up. The IDS is a great scan tool and since working at ford it has never steered me in the wrong direction. Ford also tells us techs that relative compression is just a quick reference if there is an issue you should still to a manual compression test.

Relative compression can be funky on IDS. I’d blame the tech. I use it as a starting point, but always go to power balance and follow up with manual compression after.

I think it’s time for JHWHO to build himself a race truck to use and tag along with ol cleeter and the rest of the crew to racing events through out the year..

I'm not completely biased but, a old school 12 V or 24V is a great motor for reliability. I currently drive a 2021 f350 but, still maintain my old 12v Dodge cause she never gave up through all the abuse for the past 300k . I still drive her most the time, just not towing on long trips anymore. Don't get me wrong ! I fueled, turboed, and flat footed the old girl with large trailers behind her with little issue.

I bought a 04 powerstroke back when I was 21 I owned it for 6 years was a super fun truck when it was running right! I put at least 60k in that pos building and repairing it but maaaaaa gawddd they are by far the sickest sounding diesel ever!!!!
