My mother lived in Venezuela during the 1930s, but never taught me any Spanish. I took 3 years of high school Spanish, but now 40+ years later I am enrolled in the first of 5 college level Spanish classes (online). I am using your videos to supplement my learning.
Thank you for your series. We are big fans of Cody, by the way --- he is a good sport, does not put on a Spanish accent, does not put on airs. Cody is a highly-relatable guy to gringos who have to study Spanish. We are on Team Cody ! :)
I am sympathetic to Cody in this video. I have memorized 0-100 in Spanish, but it always takes me a few seconds to recall a random number, beyond 15. This video is my first time learning about numbers above 100. El año de mi nacimiento es mil novecientos noventa.
I can sympathize with Cody. I was okay with everything else. But big numbers are tough for me. However, I found out that if you type the number into Google translate, it will translate the number into Spanish and then say it for you. So if you type in five-hundred-thirty-two-million seven-hundred-eighty-one-thousand six-hundred-forty-nine it's translated to quinientos treinta y dos millones setecientos ochenta y uno mil seiscientos cuarenta y nueve (which I can only assume is correct). Then you hit the speaker and it will pronounce the number. I think I'm going to have to do this a lot to practice. :^) I could understand what the first, third and fourth person-on-the-street were saying, but could only partially understand the woman asking about prices. (And those prices, wow!!! I'm going to have to check the exchange rate.) If these are just "people on the street," the Columbian accent seems easier to understand to me than some others I've heard. And, of course, Maria you speak so clearly that you give me hope that I will be able to understand other Spanish speakers.
Imagino que te refieres a lo de AD(después de Cristo) que es la abreviatura en latín, en español obviamente es DC y en inglés AC(After Christ). Como AD es del latín se puede utilizar en ambos lenguajes porque es lo original
@@VTSifuSteve Looks to me like you are the only person to come up with a plan the government might be willing to accept to reduce the Federal deficit - switch from US "billions" to Spanish/British "billions". This will allow them to instantly waste one thousand times more of our money without appearing to do so.
You need to start using them in you daily life! Read licence plates out loud, talk about years. Listen, repeat and imitate the pronunciation. There are many things to do!
