You are perfecting your storytelling ( although this is not a story ). When it came to the 5th victim I got shivers and goosebumps. If only they had medical detectives at that time he would have been caught really fast. Its incredible how forensic work has developed and is still being perfected. You should make a series about your taking on cases.

Your Lizzie Borden video cane up on my newsfeed. Then i searched your page for more true crime and you do great videos! Ive been into JTR for 20 years(nothing like you of course). Studied the casebook. everything Donald Rumbelow, Stewert Evans, etc wrote but your videos have great little tidbits of info i never knew. I hope you do more true crime videos in the future and maybe even some on the muse you work in. Thanks for the videos.

Lechmere did not tell the policeman that there was another officer with the body. This is a popular misconception. The policeman lied at the inquest and stated that Lechmere told him that another policeman was already with the body. The reason he did this is obvious. After Lechmere and Paul told the officer that they found a woman on Buck's Row that may be dead, the officer wasn't that interested and continued making his rounds of waking people up on his beat. Once he arrived at the murder scene and saw how serious the situation was, he needed to justify why he took his time getting to the murder scene. He stated at the inquest that Lechmere told him that there was already an officer on the scene. Lechmere denied saying this so it's basically one man's word against another's. As far as Lechmere's route to work passing by the murder locations, this is pure speculation. You'd have to draw a couple different paths to work to bring Lechmere past the murder scenes on his way to work. Nobody knows what routes he took or at what times he went to work. In closing, if you are going to consider Lechmere a suspect just because he found one of the JTR victims, what about the other bodies? Shouldn't the men that found the other 4 bodies be considered suspects too?

Like you I see too many holes in the Lechmere Story. Even more than all this is the fact the murders stopped without Lechmere being arrested for something else or leaving the area. Serial killers don’t just stop.. I still favor Kosminski, but in truth we will never know.
@Skiptickle

@@bigprettyman3795 That's a good point. If Lechmere was JTR, why did the killings suddenly stop? Kosminski has always been my favorite suspect too.

Thanks, friend. I figured those that were interested would watch it and I wasn’t going for big view numbers. However, it surprised me. I expected no more than 20. Just proves the power of the mystery of Jack the Ripper.

I think Kosminski is the guy. As you pointed out, he was actually caught by Israel Schwartz attacking one of the victims. (I think it was poor Elizabeth Stride.) Although, I think I read somewhere that there was also record of a Kaminski at the asylum at the time they think Kosminski was there, so there might've been a mixup in the names? Anybody else read that?

But as you pointed out. Serial killer just don't stop. When was Lechmere ever accused of being a killer post 1888? Also.t he police never mentioned Cross in any further killings..
@bigprettyman3795
@bigprettyman3795 Год назад
Completely agree. It’s the one fact that to me makes him a less likely suspect. I still think Kosminski is the most viable suspect.

I really enjoyed your video on the Ripper (also enjoyed your 3 on Lizzie Borden, never knew about the overcoat theory!), and I like that you stick to the known facts and don't go off on weird speculations (I read the Cornwell book on Walter Sickert as the Ripper and thought it was poorly argued and merely conjectural, with no evidence supplied). Would you consider doing a video on the Julia Wallace murder? That one is eternally fascinating, even to seasoned crime writers. Or, to get back to Walter Sickert, the Camden Town Murder, in which the real killer may have gotten off. Thanks!

I always enjoy your vid. You are well informed and organized. You have the abity to tell a story. I've got a book for you on Saucy Jack- It floats a theory that Elizabeth Stride is not a Ripper victim. It's pretty well done- if you haven't read it. Elizabeth Stride and Jack the Ripper by Dave York. Keep up the good work!
@bigprettyman3795

Thank you for the praise and recommendation. The Stride murder has been questioned as a Ripper murder for 100 years. Some have accused colleagues of hers, but I think she was a disrupted kill by Jack. Why? Not just because of the fury unleashed on Eddowes soon after, but the fact he didn’t strike again for his longest gap. Between Nichols and Chapman was just a little over a week. Nearly 3 between Chapman and double event. Then suddenly he goes nearly 6 weeks (Sept 30 to November 9). I think it insinuates that he got spooked by nearly getting caught. Other serial killers have had such abnormal gaps after close calls or having one nearly get away. If it was Jack then with Stride he was witnessed, then had a cart disrupt him and had to flee. In his attack on Eddowes it’s almost definite a constable walked into Mitres square and if he had shined his light in the right corner he would caught Jack in the act. That would naturally explain his long gap, and maybe his new caution answers why his next victim was slaughtered safely indoors.

Love your crime stuff and share your reasoning on Borden and Lechmere. Don't apologize for rambling cos your full explanations are fascinating. Like yourself, I've read all the Ripper books,done serious online hours on the subject and have settled on James Kelly prime suspect followed by Lechmere. Look forward to more theories soon!
@bigprettyman3795
@bigprettyman3795 2 года назад
Thank you very much. James Kelly is my number three suspect. His case is very interesting. I only put him 3rd due to his difference in MO. Kelly was an impulsive rage killer. He killed his wife out of anger and jealousy, believing she had cheated and give him an STD. He’s definitely a sociopath and hence couldn’t function in society. Also why he was immediately caught. Jack the Ripper was a psychopath and sexual deviant obsessed with dissecting women as his turn-on. As I said ‘ he killed to cut, not cut to kill’. Kelly doesn’t seem to fit that profile. Though it is possible. However, I think he may well have been the killer in America.

What about the butcher that passed by all the murderscenes, on his way to - ,and from work? I was informed,that they found out, that it was him...

Nope. Just another circumstantial suspect. He lived long after the murders ended with no incidents where he lived and moved. They just stop. Nobody has ever proven who was Jack the Ripper. Likely never will.

I’ve found that bizarre myself. However, psychopathic killers are generally very clever and excellent chameleons and manipulators. As a Jew himself he would have known the misdirecting reaction it would cause, and actually; it worked. I also have doubts on Cross for one reason: their were no further murders around him, and he served no time for anything else. Serial killers don’t just quit, and their should be more murders within his vicinity if/when he moved and correspond with any change with his schedule.yet, we find nothing. So yes; theirs plenty of doubts with both. That’s why we’ll never truly know Jack’s identity.

So hearing the whole story, my only doubt for Kosmlinski being the ripper is he was a jew and shouted a slur at another jew? Just doesn't sound right to me, unless of course it was thought out to make it seem like he wasn't Jewish himself. Highly doubtful in my opinion.
