i just have to say how refreshing it is to see non perfect parts. I didnt use a comb to make neat parts and i rarely see that with others. I think it's so lovely! Your locs are beautiful!!
My loc parts arnt perfect either. I started with 2 strand twist and I had 4 hours to do them on a break at work. So I have different size locs, different parts but I love it
I've found out that Blue Magic hair grease is the TRUTH for keeping locs healthy, I just happened to use some on a person's locs that was maintaining and his locs grew so long 😍 and pretty.
@@vintagefiasco2271 No ma'am, I use it now for me and son's locs just oil your scalp with it you don't need a lot at all, I'm telling you Blue Magic is the truth for loc maintenance.
Thanks for the info! I absolutely love Blue Magic and didn't know i could use grease on my locs (I'm 10 months in). I'm super excited to do my hair now!!
That's all you need. That's what I use, greese, oil, and water, not in that order, not all at once either. Grease on my scalp only when my scalp is dry, small amount of oil for shine on my locs. Water/rose water for hydration daily (I skip a couple days if I oil my hair the day before). I can't use castor oil cause it make my skin itch, and so do some oils. I use avocado with peppermint oil. I've been using hair grease since I started growing hair during my infancy stage. The same grease my mother use is same hair grease I use now. I don't care what ingredients it have in it. My hair is full, and i have no thinning issues. I don't get build up either because I don't put anything crazy in my locs, or do anything crazy to my locs. I also wash my hair with regular shampoo 😱😁.
Incredible. I never knew there were natural greases. But then again, I've never done research in that area. My first couple retwists were done with an unnatural grease recommended by a very popular RU-vidr. My hair was a hot mess lol. Trial and error is what I learned
Beautiful locs... I have 354 micro locs. I don't retwist I interlock, I grease my scalp, bc oil does nothing for my scalp! I don't have any build up either, thank God. We have to do what works for us. To each his/her own ❤
Hey Desiree , I will be from Kansas City to NY next weekend. Unfortunately not for pleasure, a funeral . Maybe we can meet up and do a subbie meet and greet , that would be great 😜 Also I can get some of that natures blessing let me know where you get it
I think your locs are absolutely beautiful. I'm close to 2yrs being locd myself, currently 22 months, I'm just starting to see growth, when it's wet I see the growth, but, now, I'm starting to see it dry.
These oils and grease should only be applied to the scalp/skin of the head. Oil and water don’t mix, this it causes buildup inside the locs. The oils and grease you’re using are fine, just use on the scalp. Blessings.
My starter locs are new. The stylist I went to used gel in my hair and she told me to come back in 3 weeks. I have natures blessings grease and Jamaican black tea tree Castor oil. I want to wash the gel out with a durag on, and then moisturize my scalp with those two products. But I dont know yet. Should I do that or should I wait to avoid over moisturizing the starter locs out?
@@rah_soj3rsey Do what you think is best for your locs. It's your hair, everyone's hair is different. If you think the gel isn't going to work out for you, wash it out and redo your locs with your desired products. I do say wait for those 3 weeks at least so there won't be unraveling, but after those 3 weeks if you want don't go back and just use the products you want!
I only use oil and water to retwist. That grease looks nice -- never tried it because I'm sketical of anything solid at room temp, but have always heard good things.
REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU USE, THEY ALL WILL BUILD UP AT SOME POINT😔 MOISTURE IS IMPORTANT TO LOCS AND THAT IS WHAT SHE IS DOING, STAYING HEALTHY😀 YOU CAN ALWAYS WASH YOUR LOCS😔
Looks lovely 👍🏾👌🏾💖. I don’t use gels to retwist my Locs I find them drying I just use oil. I’ve heard of Nature’s Blessings from a few years back before I started my Channel. I’ve always wanted to try it but was a little apprehensive so you’ve experienced no buildup?? 🤔. Your hair did look well moisturised and shiny. NOTE: The link you put in your description box was not for nature’s blessings it was for Aloe Vera Shampoo?? I don’t know if you realised?....anyway the shampoo looked interesting so might check that out on Amazon UK site. Thanks for sharing. 🇬🇧 😉☺️😆
Natures Blessings smells so lovely! I love it on my hair/scalp & my 1 yr old daughters loose hair loves it vs Softee hair grease from what I've noticed.
Grease sounds scary😳 but I guess see how your hair manages with this in 3 months... I just wash use light oil sometimes Jamaican black castor oil.... and interlock. Have 200locs now.. I combined over 20
Hey love ❤️! I might have missed you saying it one of your other videos. If so, please point me to the video. I was curious to when and why you switched from the Nature’s Blessing Hair Food to the Pomade? I have both. And I like the pomade much better. It is thicker of course because of the mineral jelly. The Hair Food is thinner. I’m sure the Pomade holds better and lasts longer. It definitely smells much better too. Many people sleep on the benefits of mineral oil when we started going natural. It began to receive bad press over time as something unnatural. But when tested it locs in the moisture into our hair more than any other oil that is used. Castor oil is an emollient and humectant. It aids in locking moisture in and attraction moisture too. It can be sticky if too much is used attracting dirt and lint. However, using this combination to retwist once a month just seems like a winner from their properties. I’ve used the Pomade for a retwist alone and loved it. Moisture for more than a week. My hair has always loved castor oil more than any other oil when I was a loose natural. Thanks for sharing and I just adore 🥰 and covet your locs love 💕!
I might try next time I retwist my locs with nature blessing and I use nature blessings on my scalp and I use almond oil as well. I normally retwist with some loc and twist gel to retwist and I use almond oil for my scalp. You’re retwist came out so beautifully 🤗👍👏.
I was reading the comments to see if someone speak on blue magic. I been using this grease for year's and my mom used it on me when I was a little girl, and now I use it on my daughter with her non-loc hair. Thank you I might try it out.
I like waiting the next day to Retwist also. My hair acts better. I will try the Blessings pomade. I heard it is really good for awhile now. Your Locs look great.
Your locs are gorg 😍 Officially a new subbie! Did you start your locs with two strand twists or comb coils? Also how long did it take your locs to be smooth instead of frizzy all the way down the loc? Thanks in advance for your answer.
It really isn’t harmful at all. Mineral oil vs all other oils is far superior at keeping textured hair moisturized. All the research I have done shows that time after time. Also, somehow it mineral oil got a bad rep and it is hard for it to recover from bad and wrong press. Believe me, I used to eschew anything and everything mineral oil and petroleum. My hair paid for it too. Nothing was like it, and I am more open to it than I ever have been since my young days of Blue Magic and Royal Crown.
Aelicia Allen I agree. I’ve had dreads over 15 years. It’s true. U have to train them. They will turn on u if u don’t. Trust and believe. I cringed when she twisted left like nooooooooo

Your locs are beautiful. Actually oil and grease attract dirt and may cause buildup on your beautiful babies even when washed. Make sure to do a avc and baking soda rinse in near future. Oil and grease is not moisture sweetie, water is, but I do understand why you may need the oil to stop the flyaways. Still pretty though, God bless
I think it has more to do with the density of your hair & the thickness of your follicles. Usually those w finer hair tend to have that "scalpy look". Im not sure if it can be avoided w that hair type.
@@latasha4572 because it's my first loc journey and i want a great turn out. I'm hearing all about the "right" and "wrong" products to use 😵 and it's overwhelming information for one. I was wondering about parting system cause my loctician never discussed why she chose it. I want thick locs but it's coming out looking like small to medium locs instead. I want to keep my hair healthy and i stress over how it will look in the end.
You will surely wind up with a ton of build-up. It might not be today it might not be tomorrow it might be a year or two from now but I guarantee your hair will be full of buildup
