I cannot tell how amazing this series is. This honestly could be a small mini series that airs on a major network. I’m sure there are details within that would be interesting to a larger viewership. To the Olsens. Wow, you are truly aspirational from a family perspective, work ethic, and the pure reality of what you do for a living. Wish you the best.

This has always been a dream of mine to work on a ranch. Now at 44 with 19 years at my current job I realize I have live that dream through you tube. Was just in Idaho, Wyoming and Montana this week on vacation. Amazing places. Made me not want to go back home to Missouri.

Your channel came across my feed, and glad it did so. I grew up on the front range of CO in the 60's and 70's, east of Fort Collins. Dairy operation. Moved to NW Arkansas many decades ago. Here I run 1 AU per 2 acres with 300+ grazing days per year. Adaptive grazing with minimal inputs. I still return home occasionally to help family friends work cattle before turning them out on the summer range in the foot hills of Fort Collins. Welcome sight to see someone take the time to share a more relastic perspective of ranch life. Never seen a horse table for shoeing. I still do this the traditional way and shall we say behavioral therapy stops a thousand pound horse from leaning on you while addressing their foot care. A big fan due to content relative to my past. So Im sold, and pushing the little buttons to help you has zero effect upon me. Subscribed and Blessings to You and those You Love

yes yes indeed that's what i always thought, things changed fast when one morning i wake and i can not get outta bed, my legs would not move, the signal from my brain to my body was broken. no more walking, driving and everything else u use your lower body for. lost from a blood clot in spinal cord.

Congratulations on a fantastic production. That’s the life I wanted as well but too many things conspired against it. Question: at the 10 minute mark when you’re in the tractor you’re wearing a nice flat brimmed hat. Can you please tell me the make and model? I’d love to get one. You were also wearing it in much of volume 3. Best wishes. I’m glad to know this lifestyle still works out for some people. I’m very happy for you and your wife and children.

@UCaIiH6NLDjecUwVicz3dfPg Thanks for the reply. I should have guessed it was an Akubra hat. Perhaps the Cattleman model? I have too many hats already but it never hurts to find one more… I grew up on a cattle operation with a mean SOB as a father so I really appreciate the fact that Dusty is calm and patient and teaches with love rather than anger. I raised my kids in the same manner to the best of my ability. There’s no place in a family, farm, or ranch for an angry father. You guys have a lot to be proud of. Keep doing what your doing and I’ll pray for your health and well-being.

One of the kids were cutting and hit a rock while they were doing the back swaths. It broke a center blade and the strip was covered by the rows. It was a fun surprise when we started baling.

For almost 15 years we had a business and invested everything we could into more land and animals. It was a very crazy time trying to run a business and a ranch. In 2018 when the business slowed down we were able to shut it down and only run cattle.

I was agreeing with you about money in ranching. In one of the first episodes Dusty talks about how hard it is to run cattle and pay for land. You really can’t do it anymore without subsidizing it with money from somewhere else (like we did with another business) - at least until you get things paid for. (That’s our experience)
