What a stupid report. WHAT IF... WHAT IF... WHAT IF... But it didn't. Sinkholes appear every single day on roads across the country. No one calls for the ban on constructing roads.
Why did you not interview an expert to tell us whether this is actually something to be concerned about? All this report tells you is that there's a hole in the ground and some local people don't like it. It's not very informative.
I agree. It has a very "channel 5" speculation feel to it. I particularly like the indentation in the ground inferring something sinister was afoot near the café, but fails to question the side door and pallet in which the owner steps daily in and out of the business.
So more moaning Minnie’s from leafy Home Counties nimby’s. “ it sounded like a earthquake “, says one woman. The myopic interviewer never asked her when she last heard a earth quake ! More making something out of nothing.
That looks like Shardeloes. I think the entire top of that Chiltern Tunnel should be sealed off until well after any settlement issues are resolved, i.e after trains begin running and causing vibrations. HS2 does not know the area is safe, any more than the public knows there won't be more sinkholes opening up. The environmental campaigners voiced their concerns about the fragile ecosystem around the River Misbourne and that the whole of Shardeloes Lake might disappear for good into the tunnel workings. The warnings were not given in vain; and it appears that they were not heeded
