Thomas from Chasing a Catch takes the boat out in the Far North of Aotearoa New Zealand to fish with soft baits and sliding jigs. I start off in shallow water with soft baiting and move deeper as the day goes on. Fishing is good but gets much better once the wind comes with with double hook ups happening. I catch snapper, kahawai, king fish and trevally.

Nice one Thomas. That snapper is great if cooked asam pedas or masak lemak cili api 🤤🤤Is it possible for you to show us some land based fishing like trout fishing in your next video? It's my dream to go trout fishing using an ultralight setup in New Zealand.😁

Thanks for watching and I’m glad you’re enjoying them. It’s just off the bottom. Within a meter I’d say. I want it as close as possible but not right on the bottom as I don’t want to snag or just pick up weed etc. Hope that helps. Cheers, Thomas
