Awesome! We need to rip out the computer, replace the internals of the auto trans with 7 to 10 close ratio gears instead of the funky voodoo gear setup. Match the ratios with top speed, take off launch, and everything inbetween evenly spaced. Now it should work.
Lmao just melting tires made me smile 😃 good stuff!!! I have a 2010 with 3600 stall with 3:73 with its very drivable. And the launch is pretty insane of coarse with good tires, lol
Great content bro. I have the same cat. I have 3800 stall and 3.91 gears noticed there is a slight dead spot in 3rd gear until you give it more throttle then it pulls through on mine. Noticed the same behavior in your video.
I’ve been waiting for more camero content ! With so many videos dogging on the l99, it made me feel like I made a mistake in not waiting for a manual, but seeing your videos made me truly fall in love with my car. I’m probably a month or two out of getting my 2014 SS hooked up with TSP 1 7/8 headers and a full corsa ZL1 Exhaust would you recommend the swap to 3.91 gears ? I’ve been trying to find a good explanation as to which would work best for the track and street as it is still my main daily driver. Any input would be sick, I’ve read there are some 3.70 gears that are amazing on these autos but the main buzz does always seem to be around those 3.91s
I have a stage 3 cam 3800 stall with 3.73 gears and I like it a lot many shop were telling me the 3.91 gears would be to much torque to launch in 1st gear
Red6.2SS yea that’s what I’m worried about, I’m most likely staying bolt one for a good year before I toss in a nice GPI vvt cam in it, but unsure of how big of a cam I’d go with, if enough money is saved might just go with the ss3 with converter. Thinking of leaving the stock gears in for now and see how I like the bolt ons with those gears
Hey man I’ve got an 11 ss A6 pretty much all stock just have resonator and muffler delete and gutted cats. I just wanted to know what you think the best first couple of bang for your buck mods are. I’m thinking headers, stall, gears, cai and cam but that’s probably last seeing as it’s the most expensive. Any help is appreciated, thanks
According to this guy the 3800rpm stall converter with stock 3.27 gears is just as fast as the same stall converter with 3.91 gears plus my 2011 Camaro SS with a Circle D 4200rpm stall converter redlines 1st gear at 45mph with the 3.27 gears with 3.91 gears redline in 1st gear would be about 30-32mph unless your LS3 can turn 8000+rpm can't see the advantages plus my car with the 4200rpm stall and 3.27 gears shifts into 2nd gear at 10mph at light throttle or street driving this same setup with 3.91 gears at part throttle or street driving would shift into 2nd gear at about 4mph basically making 1st gear about useless is my opinion plus the 3.27 gear with the 6L80 transmission 1st gear ratio of 4.03 is equal to a turbo 350 transmission with 4.30 rear gears in 1st gear now throw in a 4200rpm stall converter 3.91 gears in a 6L80 transmission would be equal to a turbo 350 transmission with 4.88 gears in 1st gear and with the 3.27 gears with the 4200rpm stall cruising 80mph in 6th gear with the lockup converter engaged it it's turning 2100rpm makes the car more economical and useable rather than turning 2500rpm at the same speed
I do 100% throttle and the rest of the time my driving is just normal and I have no idea how much throttle I use maybe 10%? Am I the only one who is bipolar and doesn’t use 50 or 70% throttle?
Ive got my 3500-3600 coming. Concerned about city driving and what not. right now i push through my converter and im detuned to avoid that. wonder if being fully tuned proper would driving city mpg be a bit better?
Stock Converter and a cam definitely makes city cruising suck a little bit. The converter will get rid of that push-through. Just get a nice Trans Cooler and you'll be good
With the SS1 cam, no. The car was just as fast with 3.27s and 3800 stall combo. I WOULD do 3.91s however if the car was SS1 cam and Stock Converter. I just think, based off the evidence, it all comes down to the right combination of parts. The 3.91s with the SS3 cam and 3800 stall have been great together. Low 1.5s and even high 1.4 60fts have been seen with that Combo
Oil Temps are 220ish pretty consistently. Trans has a Cooler on it so that stays pretty cool as well 170-190 depending on outside temps and if I'm getting on it
@@austinmcholland2367 thanks man I really appreciate it! I got a Jegs cooler. It was $150- $180 I cant remember exactly. Keeping these things cool is the key to making em last
Anyone ever done a fog light deletes just to feed more air by chance? I did mine this weekend. I can definitely tell a difference on my cold air intake.
@@Blown6.2 I ran my car with the SS1 and 3800 stall. It wasn't any faster than the stock converter with 26" DR. The bigger stall takes the smaller cam out of its powerband imo. You pick up 60ft but after the 1/8th I lost mph.
