25 increase on basic pay not on total pay with allowances. I am government Doctor , i do my duties honestly and my basic pay is 45000 and total pay is 115000 and i am in grade 17. Government increased our pay by 20 % from grade 17 onwards , if i calculate then 9000 will be increased on basic pay and now tax is doubled and half of my increased pay which is 4500 will be cut in taxes so i have a total increase of 4500 to 5000 only . Now imagine being a honest officer what i get only 5000 increase. so the moral is if i am corrupt then i all make good money but if am honest then i cant live in this country on this pay, better to do business or go abroad .
