I did not even last 1.5 years in big tech before my manager was telling other people he was going to lay me off. I quit before then, but I was always told I'm a top performer. So even if you don't quit after a year they will find a way to push you out. Ironically, big tech is much LESS stable than a medium sized or startup company. Also when I left the company my entire team was saying they wish they had a new offer as well.
Those non-competes including ANY post-employment restrictions should be ipso facto illegal. All states must ban these disgusting anti-worker, anti-competition practices.
having worked at both startups and large companies now i think the most important things to prioritize (especially early in your career) are receiving good initial training and mentorship. gonna make a video on this soon
Hi kevin. What happened to your leetcode Easy and Leetcode Medium playlists? I used to love working through them in order. I don't see them anymore. Have you made it for pay only now? I'm willing to pay. I need to prep for interviews now. Please let me know how I can access them again? Thanks.
Its really outstanding. Kevin I always like your tweets and this is the first time I watched your video. I feel blessed to watch such a thoughtful video, The Social Network you really made the point! Thank you for sharing the downsides.
During the video google career certificate ad came in the middle, I have waited until the end of the ad, will they pay you since you work for google? Or not
i think the hiring process will continue to evolve at a slow rate on it's own so i don't think chatgpt will affect it really. i think AI tools will help devs do their jobs more efficiently
