Yep since they will show big ten games on CBS in 2023 they will have to move around the sec games or put them on another channel

@@marshallsipe647 it will take a few years to get use to with CBS being the new home for B1G football, and I'm a Ohio St. fan and it'll be strange for me now since I gonna have to get use to watching my Bucks on CBS but the B1G deserves to be on a good network like CBS and I was thinking about if CBS should pick up the B1G after losing out the SEC to ESPN/ABC and CBS just read my mind. Like I said it'll take a minute to get use to the B1G on CBS but it'll be fun to watch the B1G and especially the Bucks on CBS after get more comfortable with the B1G on CBS.

@@RonDenWhite90 I’m not saying that this is a bad move AT ALL for the BIG 10 & it’s teams. I’m a gopher fan and I’m honest to god excited for 2 new broadcast channels and other broadcasters because after a while the same like 6 guys for both BIG 10 sports and the NFL & MLB get boring. I absolutely love this move by the BIG 10 to join with CBS, FOX, & NBC. I can’t wait!

now it's even used internationally. Paramount + is present here in Brazil, they broadcast the Copa Libertadores (south america's equivalent of the UCL) and they used this theme on the broadcasts. Even as a song when a goal is scored

They’ve used it for nfl games way back and have every year used it for non sec games including the army navy game. Sec fans really acting like they ever owned this song when they never have🤦‍♂️. Shows how low their iq is

FSU was on CBS a lot and guess what this theme was played I have,no idea why people think this theme is SEC when it was the Super Bowl theme in 87 and went to college football theme in the fall of that year . Army and Navy and the Sun Bowl had longer stints with this song than the SEC

Anyone under 35 really 40 completely associates this song with sec football. I'm old enough to somewhat remember the the big east part, doesn't change anything. You still had army-navy and the sun bowl during this run and it didn't change anyone's perception. What a history book says doesn't trump what you've experienced your whole life Plus most of it is the fact that it's being used for it's main rival conference. If it was just some a la carte contract for example the blowback wouldn't be anything close to the same

The theme song is also associated with late 1980s and early 90s college football as well. That is like saying for instance your whole life you have said that "George Epstein" was the manager of the Beatles. Then one day you meet someone and they correctly tell you that it wasn't George Epstein but Brian Epstein who was the Beatles manager. George Martin was the producer. Then you claim this guy is wrong because for your "life experience" you have believed that the guy's name is George Epstein, so history is wrong and your experience is correct. If you don't understand the reference then watch the movie 24 Party People. The CBS theme wasn't ever solely a SEC on CBS theme.

@@Biaxial Fox will tend to snag Michigan, OSU,and PSU home games as those schools have made it known they don't want too many later home games. CBS I think will take a lot of Wisconsin,Nebraska,Minnesota,Iowa, Michigan State,Rutgers, Illinois, Purdue, home games and UCLA,USC road games. NBC will have a lot of USC/UCLA home games.Penn State's white out game. And Northwestern hosting a big name school such as USC, Wisconsin, Michigan State or Notre Dame

Easy: Disney gave a dumptruck full of money to the SEC for the exclusive rights. At the end of the day the almighty dollar is king in college athletics.

The whole point is with all the TV money coming in. Expanded playoffs, NIL, and even players becoming employees, the time is now to think big. Nobody is going to care about what conferences did before 2024 because the sport has changed. It's a totally new thing. Does anybody really care who won more NFL titles before the Super Bowl era? Exactly.

No it does not CBS used this theme for 35 years the first was the intro to Super Bowl 21 the Sun Bowl and Army vs Navy game used this theme longer than the SEC and by the way they use it for the conference USA and the mountain West conference and all the Big non SEC games in 80's and 90's

@@byenye6386 Well I know that but if you grew up hearing this theme during the SEC era, it's kind of hard to separate it. One problem was they barely ever showed any other games with the exception of a mountain west game, bowl game or Army Navy game. So it will take a little while to shake this theme from being known as the SEC theme.

@@TheBusterZX You had over 20+ years to get used to this not just being the SEC theme. CFB games on CBS Sports Network used this theme during and beyond the time the SEC was on CBS. There's really no excuse.

@Wam The B1G has a network that works just for that type of game. The B1G has FOX getting first pick for BIG noon so it will focus on Michigan PSU, and Ohio State home games. NBC wants the B1G game of the week for prime time,so that means a lot of USC/UCLA hosted games and special events such as Penn States white out game. I could see Michigan State and Wisconsin hosting a lot of these games. CBS will get a lot of second tier teams at home such as Nebraska,Iowa,Minnesota, Maryland, and Illinois. Since they tend to make bowl games and could stand a ratings boost hosting a blue blood B1G team which would include USC and UCLA.

Not cool with NBC. For some reason my TV won't get NBC. I can't even get static from that station. However I am rarely at home at 7 so I guess I couldn't watch anyways.

Yes, they are using the NFL model under the new TV deal and I love that. FS1, Big Ten Network and now peacock will have big ten football games but with fox having the noon game, CBS@ 3:30 p.m. starting in 2024 because CBS will only have seven big ten games next year as CBS will have SEC football for one more year and NBC having the primetime slot, the Big Ten will basically dominate saturdays. I also love that the Big Ten championship game will rotate between fox, CBS and NBC just like the Super Bowl.

FOX at noon, CBS at 3:30 (although with the final year SEC overlap it'll be tricky), at NBC at 7:30 So for instance while CBS had three straight Michigan/OSU games in the mid 80s, don't expect them to leave FOX. CBS probably will have two B1G games to open (I'll go WVU/PSU and UNLV/Michigan) before getting into their last SEC go-round.

Yes. Fox will have most of the bigger big ten games at noon since they are the primary partner of the Big Ten and fox owns 61% of the Big Ten network. In other words, expect Michigan versus Ohio State to stay on Fox. CBS and NBC will have their share of some big big ten games but Fox will have the most. Starting next year, big ten football will be on fox, cbs, NBC, fs1, Big Ten Network and peacock. Every CBS Big Ten game will also be streaming on Paramount plus.

USC and UCLA will be at an advantage over much of the B1G because they are like the SEC, and live in a gold mine of elite local high schools and football talent. They won't need to come east or go down south for talent because California produces elite skilled position players, and the Pacific Islanders from Hawaii,American Samoa, and Tonga, fill the need for big uglies. The Callifornia schools will be at ahuge advantage recruiting kicking specialists from Australia and New Zealand as well because they aremuch more tied into the Pacifc region than a midwestern American school could ever hope to be.

The move to ESPN was by the SEC's choice, dude.

CBS and NBC will be laughing to the bank carrying the games of a conference with a true national following. The SEC is a regional conference that can't figure out why nobody outside the south cares about it.
