How many horses survived? Some look terribly sweaty, rolling eyes, kind of fearful - and some riders way too heavy and weaponed with sticks ... horribly sharp curb bits enough to break a horse's jaw.. :( No offence and correct me if I am wrong.
@@GALLEN-vf7uy i've rode horses all my life some people looked good on their horses but most looked terrible on their form and how they were treating them.

@@djmcflyy2346 ok first of all skin color has nothing to do with it. I don’t care how you look but you need to know how to handle a horse. These are animals it’s not about the people it’s about the welfare of the animals. And I wouldn’t agree with anyone using a whip incorrectly. They are simple an extension of the leg and used as a tickle or a tap. Before you start an argument please be knowledgeable on what you are talking about. I actually own a horse and work with very knowledgeable trainers that are part of the pony club group, and just so you know... most Olympic riders are pony club graduates so the people I work with are very knowledgeable. If you are going to own a horse you need to treat it with care and respect. Make sure you have the time to give it proper exercise and attention, make sure the horse is the right size to support you, make sure your tack is properly fitted, and please please know how to ride and take lessons before you buy a horse. They are living creatures with a right to a comfortable healthy life and most of those horses are showing body language that indicates extreme discomfort.
a lot of em too fat for their horses and they all bouncing like crazy. nobody knows how to ride, use stirrups or their own legs. nobody thinking about the horses.
🐎 Loved watching everyone of the horses with their riders, there's nothing better than the sound of horses on the trail. Every one of the riders have amazing seats...right in the saddle. Could tell the respect of rider and horse...great vibes all around. Did not want it to end 🐎
@@xrenegade87xchannel88 15-20 percent of a hoses weight is a max for the rider the majority of these horses are Tennessee walkers weigh between 900-1,200 so that’s a max of of 240 lbs some of those dudes were 3-350 lbs
That's a lot of gaited horses. My favorite is at 3:00 minutes! He's smoking it. Trail riding is very popular down here in SW Louisiana, too. Usually lots of good food, music, and dancing. Country people having good fun.
Why do you choose this gait for riding? Isn't hard on them physically? I've haven't seen this before...I feel sorry for those poor horses. This makes them too high strung for which they're probably punished. The owners/riders need horsemanship lessons. This is not relaxing at ALL. Wish I hadn't seen this video.
If Your not knowledgeably is 0 then You should first learn about the Breed before making Uneducated comments. Like the Island Horse/ Pony these Tennessee Walkers have a Special gait. It’s Their Natural gait. Google is there for Us to learn what We don’t know.
@@brianhardaway9716 thank you for your reply but I disagree. I've been around horses for many years and this behavior and gait is not normal... it's induced by the riders.
The gait is something that these horses do naturally. Look up baby Tennesse walkers, Icelandics, paso finos, spotted saddle horses. They all just do that. I ride a spotted saddle horse sometimes, and I dont really know anything about riding/ training gaited horses and she just does her thing.
@@rebeccadees2300 Look up tennessee walkers, there is a natural gait they have, this is not it though. 99% of this is pacing, which is bad for them. I own a walker myself that paces and I am trying to teach him to gait correctly.

Your not suppose to bounce around in a walker. They’re suppose to be smooth ride, but that’s all you can do with then. Now when you have a non walker you can run, jump and dressage. Now that my boy does. He’s an all around horse.
This is not a trail ride!!!! This is just a bunch of uncaring people on horses that they don’t seem to have a clue on how to ride properly. Good grief who owns these animals and why is a “ trail ride” not monitored by the people who own the horses. Bad combination of four wheelers and horses!! Can’t watch any more. Bye
Ikr can’t belive how many people are incorrectly educated about horse riding and why use so harsh bits snaffles are a lot nicer and yanking their heads will only cause harm
My friend went in one of those trot alongs and her horse dropped dead from a heart attack. Be careful and take care of those horses they cant tell you when its too much for them.
I loved to trail ride when I was young. Wonderful experience and thrilled to see such a beautiful video! Everyone, should do this at least once in their lives! 🥰
@@Q1Rong I highly recommend so. Always wear a helmet and approperiate riding clothes! Btw, this whole video is just rampant animal abuse, so you can use this as what to look out for in red flags. The people have no fucking idea of how to even sit right and I don't even have to ride western to see that and then go on to defend themselves and gloat on them abusing the horses. Look up videos of english and western riding. I'd recommend looking at someone like This Esme for english style and RaleighLink14 for more of a western standing. Unfortunately RU-vid has a fuckton of abusive western riders.
Please, PLEASE, for the horses sake, have weight restrictions for riders! yes, a horse is purchased for riding, but it’s not a machine; it feels pain, gets exhausted and can die from over exertion. Please have your larger guests ride a quad! Please!
Wow I can honestly say I have never seen such a blatant disregard for a horses back and kidneys and the safety of the rider. Does know one know how to post when a horse is trotting or not to lean so far back in the saddle that your pounding on the horses kidneys. I'm not trying to be a Karen, I've tought people how to ride horses and to keep your furry friend happy and healthy for years to come and just watching this video makes me want to cry for these poor animals. They all are going to need Chiropractic work after this.
Most of the horses are not trotting (diagonal legs moving together); therefore, you can't post. Most of the horses are a gated breed (TN walker, Missouri Foxtrotter, etc) so the right legs (front & back) kick forward while the left legs are back. Its actually quite smooth. There aren't very many walkers where I live, so I've only riden one, but it was amazing.
@@christinaheater2500 yes but despite this you still need proper positioning because no matter how smooth a gait is, how your sitting will affect where and how much pressure is paced on the horses back. Not to mention some of these riders have very harsh hands. I just think some of them should get their tack refitted, and go seek instruction from a professional instructor as this is really damaging for the horse.
@@christinaheater2500 it’s a couple seconds of a video, but I’m sure that trail ride lasted hours with the same type of riding. I am in no way judging the person themselves but most would benefit from more knowledge and instruction from a professional
@@karladougherty5694 I'm sorry to say this style of riding is everywhere in the US south. People sit like on gaited horses as if they're on a recliner, and have no regard for the horses mouth
Read a story about a Doc who lived back around the turn of the last century. He had a big black wakin' horse. He went over the mountain to Franklin, NC and delivered a baby... 36 mileseach way. A blizzard was blowing in, but he headed home anyway. The big black racked up the mountain and down again in a blowing blizzard... 36 miles. His sons poured water on his legs and boots. He was frozen in the saddle. The big black was fine...
Okay, so it would be safer to wear helmets. And, most of the people are good riders, but others just have a hard hand. And when you see the horse's tail up in an odd curved way, sometimes that means the horse's back is in pain.
horses ain't too small. no such thing as a "too small" horse. Rider can be too big and fat for the horse, however. it's sad to see so many people in one place not give due consideration to the animal they bouncing up and down on. selfish bunch.

For the first time to see these many black people outside the city enjoying nature and horses. I hope other black people introduce their kids to these kinds of activities.
As a lifelong horseman those are some smooth stepping horses! Heeat vid and please keep posting variety in horsemanship we need to show all breeds of humans can ride. I say breeds because that is our only difference we are all the same race, HUMANS.

What did they put on the horses hooves? No one is breaking a trot. I assume what ever is on the hooves prevents this. Absurd! The horse can't canter or gallop. Very strange.

@@cadeecoble6785 OK Karen. One that's not the point of my comment nor is there any judgement on their horses or the care quality. These trail rides happen each weekend in this part of the country (Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana) with alternating cities... These horses get a lot of training around ATV's and traffic at young ages so there is rarely any problems of that nature.. . As for as an actual head count, I have NO idea ! Many riders were too big for the horses they were riding. Most riders looked pretty useless . Not a good experience for the animals at all... and all the loud vehicles aswell.. what’s relaxing and natural about that?
Sorry for the ignorance but I'm just learning more about horses. I notice these horses run different, is that a certain training method used? Thank yall 🙌🏾🖤
Apparently if you comment on the fact that the majority of these horses were stargazing and traveling hollow backed, with their jaws set hard or their mouths open trying to evade their bits, you are a racist. Probably if you point out the obvious problems with some riders also being far too heavy for their horses, you are not only a racist, you are prejudiced against fat people as well. I'm not going to place all the blame on the riders, many of these riders seemed to be trying to interfere as little as possible with their mounts. Unfortunately, like many gaited horses, these horses have been taught to travel hollow and strung out, and in all likelihood, primarily in straight lines. Gaited horses actually travel far better if taught to soften vertically and laterally, and get their hind ends under themselves and their backs rounding. Additionally, getting broke in the body by learning to bend, will also strengthen the gait. Then they are able to gait unfettered on the trail, no bits needed at all ultimately, and their muscles develop properly, so the incidence of lameness and soreness is reduced. One only needs of to look at the lack of correct muscle development in these poor creatures to guess that their careers will not be too long. The weak top lines, weak hindquarters, and the over developed undersides of their necks predict a life of pain for them. Pain that is often mistaken for behavioral problems. And people of all races are ofyen ignorant with horses. I see plenty of gaited horses trained incorrectly by plenty of white people. Not too long ago I heard one tell her farrier that gaited horses had to wear a special gaited horse bit to gait 🙄 And as usual, it is the horse that suffers.
@UCr0vXWUnZx26Jg1THDwyOFQ Racist? Shut the up. When heavy people tide horses it DAMAGES THEIR BACKS. You must have never been around a horses before. And that's not how you even bend a horse, that's how you damage their back which is straight up neglectful and abusive.
Horse racing I don’t support but this is just as bad and probably worse In horse racing they at least have proper fitted tack, healthy horses, and no harsh bits and goood riders who don’t yank their heads off
