Two long, one short, two long. I love to lie in bed at night and hear those warning blasts of a train approaching the nearest crossing. Thanks for the great vid to start the day with!
Grew up within earshot of what's today's UP Janesville sub but back then it was the C&NW " muscle line" to the Twin Cities. Many a summer night with the windows open hearing the last of the day's commuter winding it out from the depot in town or a Twin Cities bound freight out of Proviso grinding hard up the grade out of town out of the Desplaines River valley and then easing off once most of the train had crested the grade northwest of town or similarly hearing the Proviso bound freights climbing out of the Fox River valley to the west. Still in that town but best I can do these days is on still winter nights if the wind is right I might catch the horn and the thrum of diesels of a Metra commuter or CN freight on the old SOO/WC 3 miles east or a CN freight on the old EJ&E as it makes it's way from my north to west of town.
You're correct with this statement. I retired after 43 years of railroad service. Long days, work in all kinds of weather, work holidays.😎🚂✝@@clearlycaribbeanreb2895
That seeing and experiencing of 'fusion and entertainment' kinda tickled Señor Jaws... I liked it. Who woulda guessed that you could do that? Gracias por tu video. RT sends, Puebla, México...
A giant train - wow! That helper locomotive - that would be a nice job! Just back and forth all day! I might think there should be a beach there for all the sanding the engines do :)
When I was little, I thought trains 🚆 had a steering wheel, DUH,but got a chance to see inside a engine, and the engineer explained everything to me he was so nice,he passed away when I was 14,I really miss him.
Hey jaw tooth the 1st train must have emptied the yard. Very busy place 3 trains and 1 light move. Always enjoy your videos keep them coming. Have a great railroad day.🚂🙋♀️
Hear those trains screeching and squealing working hard. that's a whole lot of tankers. You could go for lunch and that train would still be going. nice catch JT.
Awesome video JT!! Those extra long trains and double bonus that they were Manifest loads!!! Great locomotive sounds working hard running up the hill. Thanks for a great video!
The hill great video a lot of heavy freight plenty of DPUs and a lot of smart siding from Jason and ELS rail road thanks Brian for another awesome video
Great opening comment JT, a fusion of entertainment & enlightenment, perfect description of your channel. Some hard working locos pulling long long trains fab to watch. Nice to see you out & about again. ❤😊
Thanks JT, another great video! Love those big, long trains with lots of tanker cars. Also, thanks for the explanation about that shover unit at the end of the train - I was wondering why it was manned, now I know. Education and entertainment!
That was hilarious watching Loki " stalking" Chessie like a cat would a mouse before they pounce😂. Since you are a musician and a railfan I probably don't need to tell you that Grand Funk Railroad took their name from Grand Trunk Railroad. I can hear the younger generation asking " Who is Grand Funk Railroad?"
Thanks for your videos, I always enjoy them. A place I really think you would like and would get a lot of train content for your channel, is the Norfolk Southern overlook in New Albany, IN across from Louisville, KY. The trains there come out of the huge train yard in Louisville , across the K & I bridge , and run along the banks of the Ohio River along with a manned pusher unit ,or two, and then thru the longest RR tunnel (Duncan Tunnel 4,295 feet) in Indiana up Edwardsville Hill into Georgetown IN. Lots of good viewing spots along that whole route, with the overlook in New Albany bring one of the best, also the trains coming out of the tunnel in Georgetown IN.
Hard to beat it but it was an all merchandise train day. From the lead train with the extra helper to the somewhat shortened steel train today being only 18 cars and then the last big train with them units shouldering into that Hill. As for being blocked on the one side you'll have to call Jason as that was 7 Center beams with Smart Siding from Sagola MI. At 4:00 was a single car and the rest were at 11:35 plus those cars probably locked couplers with the two Wisconsin Central covered hoppers in Green Bay WI that have Roofing granules from Kremlin WI. You kept the yard clerk busy but it sure made for great viewing as there were no Intermodals a rarity here
Talk about being on the wrong side of the tracks we missed the Local ; what was that engine possibly an SD-40-2 I'm trying to make note of those the Gp-59's are all but completely gone next the 40-2 will be going and not many going to regionals. I do like the mid train helper and rear-end pusher that makes you feel good when old-fashioned railroading is used !!
Another really great video watching trains especially the ones that have a lot of cars on them, the locomotive was very awesome to see and of course seeing your pets playing in the yard, Thank You Jaw Tooth.🤠👍🇺🇲📱:: 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
Really glad I didn't try to count cars today, those were long. The LP SmartSide cars were on a Sep 19 video that Jason Asselin posted. The green center-beam car was the connecter. Appreciate you letting us listen in and the call out for the box cars. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Always interesting to see a wide cab locomotive running hood first, though it must be uncomfortable for the engineer having to peer backwards all the time
I love watching your videos, you give so much more info on where & what is in the area & about old stuff that is history & just fading away. Thank you for trying to keep those things alive in our memories. I have a question, I think most of the black tankers are for Ethanol, but what is in the white ones? Also, my favorite cars are the boxcars, they seem to be right out of all the old western movies & I love all the Graffitti on them. It makes them so colorful. I don't know what they say, but I love the colors. Does Shoestring Boxcar still ride the rails? I haven't heard about him for awhile, I hope he is okay. Keep filming, I love your videos! God Bless!
Jaw... have you ever reported # of cars ( no locos ) when u describe next train? I remember 90 then 100 then 110 then 125 around here in KC. Often based on siding length.
Jaw Tooth I have seen the words "DC to AC" on the side of several of these trains. Surely they don't run on batteries but are these trains different that most Deiseal Electrics?.
